Administrators gav240z Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 It's called "Jute" material. http://www.zcar.com/forum/10-70-83-tech-discussion-forum/393386-jute-padding-heat-barrier-noise-reduction-240z-floors.html http://www.stockinteriors.com/items.asp?MakeId=38&ModelId=313&MainCatId=3&Desc=Datsun_240Z_Padding http://www.classiczcars.com/topic/8002-original-jute-material/

Administrators gav240z Posted January 30, 2017 Administrators Share Posted January 30, 2017 I haven't looked to be honest. I've somehow managed to maintain the original material in my 72 for now. I'm not yet at the stage on the 70 where I need to look at this. It depends on how "original" you want to go. Some might be ok with other material. I like the original stuff. George
I've got samples from this UK supplier. Close but no cigar. Has some coloured thread fibers throughout the jute. http://www.carcarpets.co.uk/underfelt-11-c.asp Have struck out with a few local suppliers. aircobra
how thick are they? from what i can tell, the difference between this jute material and carpet underlay ( which is what I was going to use) is that it's more conformant to curves, which is why they use for molded carpets surely someone has this locally? George
surely someone has this locally? If you find a source, let us know. 10mm or a bit less sounds about right to me.
