OUCH!!
« on: January 31, 2010, 05:14:43 AM »
Well I had one of those moments yesterday. Sitting at the lights just 500 meters from home a woman in a van hit me from behind in the 280zx. While sitting in the car it seemed like a fair hit and I was expecting the worse. When I checked it out though it seems like minimal damage. There is no panal damage. The bumper has a mark where her bull bar hit me and the bar has been pushed in about 10mm. I think I just need to straighen or replace the brackets behind the bumper and respray the bumper skin. I haven't got time to do it though. I will wait until after Easter.

I had the same thing happen to me in my 280zx a couple of months ago. Not so lucky on the damage though. It buckled the floor and roof as well as bulging out the rear guards. It became a very good parts car.  ::)

I think the damage will be much worse greg. I think you have written off that 280zx and now need to sell me the shortblock. ;D HA!

Seriously though, that sucks. I was daily driving my datsun for a while and I had to drive home along the riverside express way during busy traffic. It seemed like every day I would have a woman putting on lipstick or talking on a mobile phone behind me. Use to have to leave a lot of braking room in front of me so I could stop slowly.

not good to hear at all. what is it with ppl and hitting Zs mine got bashed in on Australia day. the Shannon's person is coming tomorrow morning but Ive already been told its a right off by the panel beater so I'm prep'd for the worse. theres a crease in the rear drivers pillar and a dint lined up with that just behind the drivers door, rear bar is pushed in and been ripped to the left and shes leaking fuel and theres about 8mm difference in gaps either side of the hatch......
without a clue as always ;)

Gday Guy's,

Just got back in the door from Targa Wrestpoint this weekend, and Im sorry to read about the above ding's. This one might cost a little more to fix, and of course no insurance.....Mr.Week's Lambo. That's him giving it the big heave-ho in the bottom photo.
Another 240Z saved from the restorers....
