Bloozed Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Hi everybody I have had a 260Z 2+2 for about 8 years that I lost in a bet to my daughter. We have been active in Classic rally etc and the car is in need of a bit of work to get back into being a reliable user. Me and the kids are all tall and the 2+2 along with a modification to the seats has been a comfortable and versatile car that has given us a lot of pleasure and introduced our family to the joys of driving. I have recently purchased a 240Z that is track prepared by SWR and am investigating opportunities to get involved with some club sport events. I have fixed the drivers seat so I can fit and driven about 40kms and think it is a lot more capable than me. However I have navigated for a mate for a few years in a 323 BMW and am preparing to go to Targa Tassie next month for the 2nd time and am thinking this would be a great car for these events. Quote
chris240 Posted March 24, 2012 Posted March 24, 2012 Welcome .....name ? Rough location ? Usual stuff ..... Now how about some pics of the mighty zed, so we can all admire Chris Quote
Bloozed Posted March 25, 2012 Author Posted March 25, 2012 We have recently moved form Orange to Dubbo in Central west NSW. Working on a shortage of garage space at the moment but I think that would be a common theme on here. I went on a Tassie tour a few years ago when a few Sydney cars came down and would like to go again. I know a few of the Sydney Z guys and they gave me great help getting this new car. Gordon Quote
chris240 Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 Niiiiiice. Actually I dont mind the cut & shut on the front bumper. Quote
DAZDA Posted March 25, 2012 Posted March 25, 2012 I'm not sure if there are many Circuits, Tarmac Rallies, Hillclimbs, advanced driving schools, etc out near Orange/Dubbo, but if you're keen to learn about you and your car's limits have a read of this thread... Bloozed Posted March 31, 2012 Author Posted March 31, 2012 Thanks for the replies, yes we are a bit isolated from the action. I was looking for a chance to take the car to Wakefield but the advanced training probably makes more sense. Have a few family members who want to get in and have a go so Wakefield is better value for a group but eastern creek has some charm. Thanks for the good advice. Wanted to try Wakefields 6 hour event as part of a team I helped out with last year so the advanced training would be smart. Quote
NEW240 Posted April 1, 2012 Posted April 1, 2012 Hi Gordon. Sometime back we did an advance driver day with Mike Navybox, he is the resident Wakefield pro. Would be ideal for you and and the family. We will be at Wakefield next Friday and Saturday with FOSC and again at Eastern creek on the 21st April. Would be good if you were able to come down to see what we are doing. Cheers Vince. navyboxschoolofmotorsport.com.au Quote
