  1. @dom What has been happening with the Fairlady Z?
  2. Japan used the 1998cc L20 engine where as the USA got the L24. From what I know it should be the correct engine. The only other engine variant would be in the Z432 I also had a very rare early 5-speed. (3 piece) that was supposed to be the original. Did you get the 3-piece transmission and a standard 280Z 5-speed transmission when you bought the car?
  3. Sadly I left the engine removal and throttle cable removal to my body and paint guy. He did rust repair to the extent he was able to (and I could afford) and also the orange paint job. I received all the parts in boxes so it is very likely he just lost items and I had no idea they were gone. I never put the engine back in, and I included all the parts I had when I sold the car. I even included those brand new fender mirrors I bought from Nissan back in 2003. I was trying to be nice but now I wish I had kept them!
  4. I don't know if this is needed, but I have some pictures of the car from the early days before the orange paint job.
  5. I purchased it in 2001 and in that year it had already been parked off the road. I think the last license tabs on it were from 1996. It could have been as far back as 1995 that it was last driving. The guy who had it in the 1990's was possibly the 2nd USA owner. He had a Washington title in his name with the car listed as a 1970 Nissan coupe. That is the year, make, and model written in by the DMV when the unknown Navy guy brought it over in the 80's. If the California title says 1969 now, then it would be Mike who pushed for the year to be changed after purchasing it from me.
  6. DOM! Keep working on the Z and keep us updated here. If you want to connect with me, just send a private message. I can give you my email or phone number to chat.
  7. After all these years someone finally posts an update on this car! I'm surprised Mike sold it. Can you post more pictures of its current condition? From that photo it looks like Mike didn't work on it at all since buying it from me in 2012. He told me he would start a thread on Hybridz but I never could find one. Also, my website hasn't been updated in years as well. http://www.bleachgarage.com/fairladyz.html
