You will need to unpick the roof skin and also part of the rear quarter (past the factory lead fill) to repair that correctly. Judging by that pic you will also find rust in the roof frame. Ive never done this repair but im sure someone on here has.

hey Gav, I maybe ordering some skins from rare spares also (my doors need a lot of work). I was over at Retro Z's place last night and he showed me a door he had re-skinned using the rare spares skin. The body line was spot on and fitted very well, but Tai did mention a noticable gap that he had to close between the top of the door to the top of the front guard (where the front gaurd goes over the door). Might pay to ask him, but as for aftermarket panels it's luck-of-the-draw. Adam.

hi guys, After doing some reasearch it seems as the strut inserts from a E30 bmw may fit the bill for sectioned 240z struts (51mm). I have yet to measure these myself, but info on the interweb shows the front BMW cartridge length at 13.5inches or 34.3cm. Im guessing that you will have to section the struts 1.5in to make these work as the factory length is 15in??

Its pretty simple. Your Po Box is essentially a vacant spot in a warehouse. When you get something delivered to this Po Box, the organisation will mark this shipment with a batch number. Once you have accumulated some bits and peices, you tell this organisation to send in 1 shipment batch numbers xxxxx and xxxxx. WAA LAA!!

Thanks Lurch. Ive seen the MSA ones but just looking for an AUS distributor first before i buy from the US. Ive got a PO box in Orlando USA which i use to consolidate shipments myself because i was sick of companies marking up freight. Gav240z, group buy would be good. Ive got a PO box in the US we can use. I also work for DHL Global in airfreight operations, so i can save $$ on customs clearance fees / freight cost with my internal rate

Yeah ive looked at the website. Its not hard to replace the whole door skin, dont know why anyone would cut and shut it. Anyway thank for the replies guys looks like I will just buy from the US again.

hi guys, Ive decided to replace both rocker / sill panels. I have a few rust spots so instead of patching its better to open up that 'can of worms' and see whats lurking behind. I was looking for full length sills and ive only found UK / USA distributors. I believe All Z parts had these but ive tried to call and no answer. Rare Spares sell a sectioned panel but this will be a last resort. any help would be great.

hi Guys, I've searched the net and have not yet found a place which stocks these products. Im mainly after the 'internal frame coating'. Ive used this before and its a great product.. probably the best and easiest to use, but had to purchase from US. It took 6 weeks to arrive due to being classified as 'Dangerous Goods'. If anyone knows where to buy locally would be greatly appreciated. cheers Adam.

Got them from a 2+2 I parted out. They are red vinyl in good nick and backboards are perfect. They are much easier to find than 2 seaters due to the fact that 2+2 get parted out more often. If your backboards are good but your vinyl skin is buggered, order a set of skins from zcarsource. Last time I checked they were $134 usd both sides.

its going to be a resto mod. yeah ive seen those carbon ones. I think there might be a thread on here somewhere. Ive got a immac set for a 2+2, i might try and cut and shut them to make a mould in fibre glass. I guess the shape would be the same only 100mm wider somewhere in the middle.

hi Guys, sorry ive been draining it lately in this wanted section. Anyway, i need a set of door trims for a 260z. Any condition, as long as the backing is useable so i can get either my trimmer to whip up some skins or order from the US. If anyone knows if the backing can be remade let me know. A friend said he might be able to make a fiberglass mould, but mine are far too gone to mould. Are there other options? cheers Adam.

hi guys, Still have a red 2+2 hatch lid (rusty) with good glass and louvre for FREE!!!! pick up only. red 2+2 rear seat in good nick $30 rear 2+2 1/4 plastic interior trims both sides not cracked! $30 2+2 rear bar with over riders. corroded / slightly rusty. Nice straight bar. $20
