Thank you all for your help and if you can find it in your manual it would be much appreciated
  3. I applied with the department of transport to do a viechel modification and in there approval it states the requirements I need to meet one of which states my suspension travel shall be no less that 2/3 of the origonal orm designed suspension (66%). I then spoke to the engineer I have choosen and recommended. By department of transport and that's how he said I have to prove it. And yea I wil become a doña ring memebwr in the near future regards.
  4. I was planning on winding up then Winding down but what I need goprro e is what the origonal travel is. That's a good point nismo I could do that and take photos hope they except it thanks for the responses.

Hi just doing some research for rim size options and was wondering what size rims people are running and what is your track width (the measurement from middle of the tyre to the other tyre) for rego I can only have a certain distance and was hoping to run close to 9.5 on front -20 and 8.5 on the front cheers
  11. YeA it's mainly the bonnet and hatch I'm stuck with. I don't have a rebuild kit or know if they are available and seeing they are in awesome condition I figured may as well leave them just need to dress them up and make them look pretty I'll sus that plating. As for the the doors I'll send them in when all my bolts get done so that's no issue i dont want the painted ha. cheers.
  12. Can that be done with out dismantling?
  13. Hi I'm currently rebuilding my door, hatch and bonnet hinges. The door hinges I'll be replacing the pins and bushes. I have everything down to bare steel and was wondering how other people have treated/finished them. I don't want to paint them as I don't want the build up around them and the paint wear epically on the bonnet hinges. I can anodise he door hinges if there is no better options but the bonnet and hatch hinges I wasn't goin to pull a Art as they are in good condition and don't think. Can anodizing with them together still. Ideas?
  14. I just pulled the full l26 out of my 1977 if you need anything I have it all. I'm located it sa. I believe the crabs are the hitachi sus. Im sure of condition the car was out in a shed in 1987 and stayed there until I bought it
  15. Sounds like what I'm looking for is it penetrative? So like can I spray it ontosurfac rust and etc that might be down there?
  16. Hi I'm searching for a product I can use for all those hard to reach places like the Chanels in the roof and cavities under the door where getting to any rust is basically impossible. Something that I can spray in like an aerosol that attacks the rust but can be left in there with out being painted. Any ideas? Cheers
  17. awsome thanks heaps for that
  18. Hi all am currently looking at sourcing parts and starting some mod work on my gutted 77. It is destin to have a rb25. Looking at doin the full everything new treatment (I know it's big $$$$) like the look of the Arizona package that comes with all the swaybars wildwood 4wheel discs, 5 stud conversion, coil overs etc. What I'm wondering, is there a suspension shop in Adelaide that also does these sort of mods that I can get a quote from to fab a full conversion for me? Cheers Ben
  19. hi i am looking at installing coil over and to get them registered in my car so they are legal (through regency i live in sa) i need to prove i have a minimum of 66% of my standard suspension travel. i would measure my own car but seeing it is stripped the weight is different so cant get an accurate reading. so i am wondering if anyone has pictures or spec of what the travel of the stock suspension is i am told to measure this u take the measure from centre of the hub to lip of the guard when sitting on flat level ground and then jack the wheel up or take the spring off so the wheel goes al the way up to the bump stop and remeasure from centre of wheel to lip of the guard and the difference is the travel i need to be 66% of when i do the same test with the coil overs. any information would be much appreciated thanks in advance
  20. Second zed. Have more photos some where and of myy first will find them
  21. As she lye for 25 years
  22. I will definatly calm him tomorrow if I get a chance thanks heaps
  23. There are slight different things I notice as from memory my first two were around the 75 mark like compliance plate isn't under the bonnet on this one that's were the chassis number is. Yes rear struts are different have a support bracket in then and strut is in a different angle. Kick guards are different. Centre consol is different. Battery tray is different. That's all I have noticed so far. But have only spent a little time with it
  24. Hi guys just deciding and sourcing parts for my 77 zed build. Looking to put a rb25 in hopefully coil overs and break upgrade etc. Wondering if anyone in SA has done this and knows what it takes to get an engineer cert and through regency. Ie. chassis strengthening, breake specs, emission control, diff changes. Thanks ben
  25. I found out its a 77 I went and regod it for 3 months to swap it in my name and cancelled it straight away. They let me rego it no questions asked. I don't know the last owners name and the last time it had rego was 1988. Haha. Just swapped into my name and technically can drive it around besides the fact it's in pieces haha. Good old SA gov Thanks for all your help
