Ok well ill keep looking, and try and look out for cars with minimal rust, who knows my budget of 5k could go up, i will have to wait and see until my birthday hahah only 6 months to go Hope to get 2+2 but if a 2 seater pops up that would be even better! Does it really matter if it is registered? Is it hard to get a car registered? Im starting to think if really does matter if it isn't registered and just register it when it come time to drive it. As much as i would a like a really perfect datsun 240z or 260z i will be to scared to drive it and take it places and be worried all the time were as if i have a car that is in a work and progress it wouldn't really bother me unless the car look like trash hahah, well that's my point of view Cooper

Yea i saw that one, iv noticed that there are a phew datsun's that go for around 6 - 9k. There was one datsun 260z 2+2 mat black that went for 4k and looked to be in pretty good condition, no rust spots from what i could see and there was another that sold for 6k in perth but the interior looked like there was going to be needing lots of work. Ill keep my eye out hopefully something will show up around September, fingers crossed! EDIT: Personally it wouldn't bother me if there was a hole or something because i really love metalworking and i could patch it up i also have got a metal lathe, welder, drill press and tools, it also helps that my dad used to be a mechanic and he could also help me Cooper

Hey guys im just wondering if many datsun 240z or 260z come up cheap that are road worthy, around 5k? Im pretty keen to get one but is it possible to get one that is roadworthy at that price, i have seen 1 or 2 at that price which are registered or roadworthy but most others i seen are not or just need to be registered. It dosent bother me if they have rust or have a dent or something because i would expect that for around that price. Cooper

True but i was never really wanted a modern car most of the cars i like are old and personally i think back then they were built to last unlike the cars we have now and i cant contemplate of buying a car i don't fancy and fix and do all that stuff because it wouldn't be fun and would end up getting sold real quick hahah, but that's my point of view. That is a good point but i can imagine it would be like that for most cars that people own either way what happens happens there isn't much you can do about :/ I try not to think about all the things that can happen because then you stress out and what not. ok well ill see how i go, really want to get a manual one but they seem to be pretty hard to find for a cheaper price in running order. Well at least my dads a mechanic....... well he was when he was younger but he now drives concrete trucks but he should be able to help with some things! Cooper

Yea and i have noticed we have got quite alot of datsun z range for sale to on gumtree! Is a manual 260z rare in Australia? i rarely see them. hopefully something comes up towards my birthday!
