Hi Gav, sorry to reopen this old thread (let me know if there is a better way?), but I was interested how you went with shrinking the top edge for the panel? I need to do exactly the same thing and would love any tips?

Hi All, I've always wanted to own a 1971 240Z ever since I was 16! However I could never afford or make time to restore one, till now. I recently bought the car as a shell with matching engine and I'm planning to restore this over a looooong time. Everything about this car will need to be repaired or fixed but I figure if I do it methodically and slowly I should be right. I love cars and even studied Industrial Design in the hope I could design cars, but when I saw that I sucked at that I thought why not restore a car instead. So I see my car as my passion first and a hobby second. I love reading through all your restorations as it give me inspiration and hope. I am based in Sydney, so if there are any locals who can point me in the right direction that would be much appreciated. I will try and keep you all posted, but I think it will be more questions that anything else. Cheers Henri (Onree)
