  1. Cheers, fair points. Does anyone know of a decent guy/business on the gold coast?
  2. Thanks boys. Would that be the same with soda blasting? Because I think ill try and leave it in there (depending on the rust of course)
  3. Hey guys, What are your thoughts on soda blasting vs sand blasting for my car? I'm heading more towards soda because it's not as full on as sand, but what are your experiences? I've got a fair bit of rust in the lower side panels, lower rear window seals and top of the wheel arches. Would you recommend doing it 'before' or 'after' I cut and weld the new parts in? Lars
  4. Hi guys, I'm assuming that black vinyl/plastic bag betwee the windscreen and fire wall is the motor for the window washers... Unless someone can tell me different? Due to stripping my entire 76 2+2 260Z I'm wanting to get all that gear out so i can sand blast and clean out the space. I've tried undoing the wipers, but struggled to take it all out without damaging anything... Does anyone know how to? If not I'll just leave it in there. Cheers, Lars
  5. Fair call, consider it done!
  6. Good man, I'll do that. Thankyou
  7. Unreal!! All done... I reckon that took me about an hour to do!! Thanks very much for your help. What are your thoughts with removing the other parts before i sand blast it? Im assuming ill have to take it all out (including the heater unit, any wiring, pedals, etc...) Or is there a way i can leave all that gear in and cover it up? Cheers
  8. Thanks lads, sounds like you're all passionate about your zeds! Im off work from until the 12th of Jan, so in between family and surfing ill be working on the car. If anyone is around the Mudgeeraba area, then feel free to drop by and give us some pointers... Msg me for contacts if so. Cheers
  9. Nice one! Thanks alot for that. It might be worth making this a 'sticky' for others later on.
  10. 3 times!! Sweet... That gives me the confidence now. If you could, id really apprecitate it Cheers
  11. Thanks Aub, I was going to put an RB20DET in it (or similar), but i think ill just run with the original engine for the moment. I want to focus on the exterior and just make it a cruiser. Im really keen on this grey one above without the chrome and rear bar. Cheers
  12. Hey guys, Im just starting to disassemble my entire 260Z for rust removal and paintwork. I was going to leave the dasj in, but i may as well take it all out for a proper job. Could someone let me know the easiest way to take it all out, and even more importantly, how to remember to put it all back together...? Plus any tips on wiring... How to take it out and remember to put it back. Thanks for any feedback, Lars
  13. Hi, Im after a second hand engine crane/hoist plus some car jacks/stands. Either let me know on here, msg me or on 0422878114. I have a ute so i can pick them up easily enough. Cheers, Lars
  14. Hi all, Its great to see such a helpful bunch of crew on here, ive already seen alot of cars im in love with Just bought a serious 1976 Z project with some serious rust issues, sometimes wondering if its all worth while?? However the body is dead straight and the engine runs well so we'll see how we go. Ive built up a few cars over the years, but nothing like this, so ill be asking a lot of questions along the way.... More so with rust, welding, finding replacement body parts and new paint work. Ill attach a few pics to give you an idea where im at... Cheers guys Lars This is the 260Z that i want to build! Give us a few years and i hope to say i have...
