  1. Anyone know how to fix a cross threaded spark plug without removing head? Was cross threaded when I bought it but does not appear to be seating properly.
  2. I wish to thank the guys for the loan of wheels to use at Calder on Sunday. Lurch, Mark and Gordon all offered the use of wheels and tyres for me to use for the sprints. Especially Mark as he brought them to the BBQ on Saturday. Ended up using Andrew's as they suited the short studs. Reason being the spacers that came with car were out of round by 2mm and vibrated like mad. (New spacers on the way) Thanks again to each. Ron
  3. Agree with Alan and Simon (Luvemfast). Why do we need another club that can only do what already exists. Maybe a little more effort could be put in to fit in with existing clubs. If what you want is driving your Z's I'm sure that existing clubs have sufficient drives on their calendar. Maybe we could be more proactive and request what we need. 4. Car finally registered with club plates after 18 months in garage and dont know how long sitting idle before I bought it. Vibration seems to be lessening the more I drive it. Could it be flat spots on tyres? (Had them balanced and alignment done.) Pinging badly until Simon backed off timing further than I had. Couldn't find mark to use timing light. Strange, cars seem to rev harder when he drives. I didn't like to rev while pinging but now it pulls hard. Sounds better than our 2 seater. Will be at BBQ on the 1st and plan to enter both at Calder next day.
  5. Carrying on from the Intro to Forum. As the car not registered, decided to put car on stands and run in gear, as previous owner said had vibration on dyno, possibly spacers on rear. It certainly vibrated, and diff seemed to rattle, so out came diff. Pulled centre out and found the oil was very strange, verified it had a Nismo LSD. Then read on internet that clutch LSD can sometimes rattle at low speeds. So back together after good clean and fresh oil. Removed spacers and a slow road test around private local block all seems to be ok.
  6. Why not check out the front diff from a nissn 720 4WD ute, I believe it is a R200 long nose.
  7. Mikuni manifold and Mikuni's
  8. Engine Bay with NAPS Injection
  9. Spoiler was cracked and pieces missing.
  10. Car had been swiped down drivers side before purchase leaving mirror in pieces and slight marks on panels. Mirror stuck together and panels only needed cutting back.
  11. As Simon said, when first started it had a leaking exhaust. Turned out to be non existant gasket between extractor and front pipe. Only 2 of 3 bolts holding it together. Replaced gasket and all good. Actually drove into garage for first time. Clutch seems good, brakes need bleeding after new pads installed. Cut and polish and then inspection for Club plates.
  12. Finally sold 200ZR and started on Scuderia 280ZX and changed name to Whoray. Repairs to front spoiler damage and smashed drivers mirror. Small areas of rust treated and painted. (Bonnet, left front guard, rear hatch, around fuel filler, passenger door) EFI removed and triple 44 Mikuni's and new fuel pump fitted. New brake pads fitted all round. Of course woudn't start, finally worked out that timing was not standard. Moved leads one position and it started after unknown years idle, although rough and backfiring badly. Simon came round 2 days later and without him touching anything it started and ran well without backfires. Guess it was just his presence.
  13. Would that internal rear trim fit a 280?
  14. Steve You are welcome to stay here if you wish. Ron ( Simon's Dad)
  15. The 200 ZR is a Z31 body with the Skyline RB20DET straight six. Looking for around $6500. Will post details in wanted to sell. Cheers, Ron
  16. Just got home from Xmas in Darwin and read this Simon. Dont think there's much chance she will let us use it as tow vehicle. We might be able to swap extractors, lets see how it goes first.
