How much work/money will it cost to get it back on the road?

Hi, My name is Tony. Reside in the south eastern side of Melbourne. Been looking at a few 260z's, hoping to buy one in the next few weeks. I turned 18 not too long ago, so my experience in fixing a car and what not is not all that high. But I'm down to learn. Money is somewhat of an issue for me also, the car will cost somewhere between 2-6k and i have another 7k to spend on top of it. Will it be enough to make it half decent and use as a daily? Apart from the fact that i really want one, a few issues have come up regarding registration and roadworthy. Would it be simple to get both of them done if the cars are not total rust buckets?
