  2. thanks for your interest guys, the car is SOLD
  3. just thought i would add, i have a set of extractors to fit ( a little surface rust but usable) no rear exhaust system, i was going to get one made up once the engine was fitted like the Z432 style with the vertical twin pipes will update as i think of more. i will attempt to get some more photos up soon
  4. ok, so let me try and list all the bits that are included with the shell. first, for the person who asked, the sills are clean. no rust that i can see, and only some minor bubbles on the bonnet and under the fuel filler flap. really superficial. other sections have been repaired prior to me owning it. the only bad part is a section cut out and not replaced yet under the drivers side rear quarter window. most of it is below the chropme trim, so hidden. fiberglass or weld a section in and done. ok. so the bits. basically entire shell except the lower centre valance panel. i didnt bother with this as i was going to mount a spoiler. so the front corners are there with the indicator/parkers ready to remove and put in a spoiler. rear bar in ok condition, front bar requiring rerolling and chroming rear taillight assemblies and centre light all in good condition. i was going to repaint gloss black. front head lights with inner buckets ok. need rewiring? fuel tank and pump removed but in car, was going to replace all breather hoses but main fill tube good. sender in tank. fume/expansion tank all complete all orginal loom there and unmolested rear diff (perhaps from an auto as the car was originally) manual pedal box already in car but no master or slave cylinder. brake booster complete and working interior: dash complete, period correct guages for model centre console ok, not great but usable or good to fix most of the diamond trim vinyl for the rear is complete, but dirty and needs a little TLC. new trans tunnel carpet in loop pile, but will need new floor carpets and side parts. carpet retainer at door complete. seats yes, but i woudl definately retrim or replace. curently in some hounds tooth pattern? but usable and work fine tilt and slide etc head lining in cream, ok condition. all hatch inner trim panels there and ok, rear seat side quarter trims ok, hatch struts good, even hatch trim panel good. but need the trims for the tops of the rear wheel arches, or you could just carpet here too... what i think is needed to complete: engine gearbox carbies some little trim bits like rear corner chrome piece for window rubber ( just one corner) side mirrors front quarter indicators as the fibrebglass guards hevent been cut yet ( or leave them off if this is legal?) its curently rolling on a set of original 260z alloys in ok condition, will come up good with a polish i really think this is a good project car, and think thsat a fellow ZED person would enjoy this car when completed, so thought i would offer it up heere before selling it in parts or on ebay if i had the time i would finish it, but baby commitments mean other things for me! thanks again for looking
  5. sorry guys up too early and not enough coffee.... i out this under parts and tools for sale please look there
  6. if anyone wants more photos, wants to come around and have a look or anything else let me know via here or oh4oh2twonine3twosixty
  7. hi guys time is something i have found i dont have at the moment, and so it is sad that i am looking to get rid of a project i barely begun except for collecting parts for the build. this is a very clean shell, i would say 98% rust free, with a lot of hard work done. it comes with most of the parts to complete, minus an engine and gearbox. i bought this transfer my running gear from another Zed, but it is perfect for anyone wanting to do a complete change to either RB26 or V8. i will try to answer all questions i can, and post as many photos as i can. i am hoping for $1500 to cover the parts in this car, notably the front guards that come with it are fibreglass, and the dash is complete and only has one split... i will try and get photos up, and when i have more time i will try to liost all the bits and what you might still need to get. the car is in VIC, and i could possibly deliver on a trailer by negotiation. thanks for having a look
  8. looking forward to photos!!!
  9. sorry to take so long to reply... but i think i might not have been accurate on my description. i need the skinny metal bits that go between the door and the rear windows. it bolts to the inside of the door opening with 2 bolts and to the roof via a plate under the gutter which is held with 2 bolts... i dont think cutting is required
  10. try Chris at Centerline suspension in Thomastown. he does road and race cars. not sure about his pricing comparison. also try SAVY motorsport in Cambellfield, he does a lot historics and TCM cars...
  11. hey Simon, no probs, let me know when you want to drop in. 1600Dave: 9/10 times you are limited in size and type by the bolt that will go through the eye and the thread type used in this assembly unless you want to re-engineer the part. what i can tell you from this is it looks to be a male rod end with high angular capacity. there are 2 ways of achieving this either by a rod end with a specific ball type for high misalignment capacity or by using a standard one and putting spacers on either side of the ball. in essence i would try to fit in the biggest rod end you can with highest spec for load. then it comes down to budget too. wouldnt use anything less than chro-moly or high strength SS in this application. if you want the top end then design up a imperial thread to be used then you can put in the aerospace grade rod end like all the V8 guys do.
  12. Hi Simon carbon steel types: KI20D female teflon lined $41.80 incl GST KA20D male teflon lined $41.80 incl SS types: RBT20e male teflon lined $49.50 incl RBT20 female teflon lined $49.50 incl
  13. hi all sorry for not getting back to this post earlier, stupid HP laptop has imminent hard drive failure... anyway, to address your questions/ comments. Simon: Yes the missus is KT... thanks to Dimitri for the g up, as for pricing and catalogs... pricing is hard, as there are so many sizes, types and applications. they range from a few dollars to possibly around $100. to give an idea is for example on small 4mm metric bronze lined (for dimitri's linkages ETC) around $8 each for a race car/aerospace grade teflon lined passivated SS type say around 1/2 inch bore and thread probably more like $70. jjust depends where you will use them as to how much you need it to be reliable.... if you send me your thoughts, i can try to help out. one golden rule is that all the aerospace grade stuff is male thread. most if the other stuff is available in male or female thread. if you want more info on sizes: http://www.linearbearings.com.au/Portals/0/Rod%20End%20Brochure%20.pdf this should help.
  14. Hi guys In the short time i have been on this forum and the longer time I have loved Zeds I have had heaps of help, assistance and advice. So I am hoping that I can give something back. I work for a company that deals with most of the v8 supercar and formula teams to supply most components for steering, suspension and linkages with regard to rod ends and spherical bearings. Most of the stuff that these guys are using are aerospace grade stainless Teflon lined rod ends, but we also have a large range of products to suit most budgets with a good range of chrome moly rod ends too. Bear in mind that a lot of these are imperial sizes, but we can also offer a good range in metric too. If you have any need for these products let me know via a PM, I will try and help you out where I can... as I am fairly new to this, i hope that you can bear with me if i take a little while to answer you...
