is there any tools other than a spanner and a hammer that will make taking that top bolt off a bit more possible? almost gave myself an aneurysm today trying lol

hey guys how do i check the diff oil level? i think that's the problem, I'm getting a high pitch whine coming from the back end and as soon as i hit 90 to 100km/h the car losses power to the wheels and the sound turns into a deep brrrrrr, also the revs will not climb at that speed, then after i roll down to 75km/h she works fine. PS. at low speeds the car revs nicely. and the whine doesn't stop when the car is stationary

all i know is changing a uni joint on an old zed sucks the bat hard, especially when you only use a hammer, smaller hammer, stupid F clamp from woodworking and a screwdriver with the car on home made ramps. i had no idea but the old uni must have been stealing some power from the wheels because the the car now A feels like its riding on air now and B dose higher speeds at lower revs and C the power feels alot more fluent and constant now also climbs revs faster, im going under the car with a greese gun tomorro see if theres any other losses in power from driveline friction. everyday i learn something new that reminds me just how little i know

i reversed out of the driveway put it into drive and there was a real messed up sound as soon as i pressed on the gas, the car rolls for a dew meters while I'm thinking what the hell, then another sound my drive shaft falling out at the gearbox, pushed it home now I'm thinking the gearbox was serviced and driveline tested less then a month ago also only passed its RW about 2 months ago from kmart tire and auto. should the mechanics have picked up on this?

funny as hell, after less then a year of zed ownership many of these apply. cept i walked instead of having a daily driver, so id have more cash for the zed to get on the road, that and how many people can say they have only owned a zed?

my uncle has laths and ill be going there to make the handles and source the wood so i reckon ill do just that, ill put up some pics of how it goes, should be in the next week or so

lol nothing really just my first car and i had never done any metal work or paint or anything car related so it seems everytime i wanna fix or change anything i go about it the wrong way.

I'm thinking of replacing my tired old plastic fitting off of my shifter and handbrake with a handmade wooden ones and that seems fairly straight forward but I'm also thinking to make clearance for a new head unit with a 7 inch motorised screen I'm going to have to make the shifter pole shorter by 2 to 3cm the question is can this been done without to many hassles or should i just put the car in neutral when i start up to make the screen clear the shifter?

OK my baby still has a whole list of things i need to fix but the main concern at the moment is Ive noticed that when ever i tap the accelerator theres a dounk sound comming from either the diff or control arms i think, also it feels like the the rear axle moves forward then the chassi catches up if that makes any sense.... any ideas on what i should check

put paint on today, I'm fairly happy with the results well until i get a full paintjob turns out the colour match was burnt orange or something (can only has code on it) anyways thought id put a few pics to show where I'm at........almost roadworthy i think only headlights now and most likely a windscreen PS. thanks heaps every1 for the advice I'm really glad i fixed it myself with just bogging everywhere the car really feels like she's mine now

getting a zed cheap is hard but not impossible i paid $1100 talked down from $1500 and the only major problem was the radiator, i had been looking (hard) for one for about a year, then one day walking to the shop a guy who lives 2 blocks down had one sitting in his front yard and as i walked past he was putting up the sign lucky i guess

hey guys, took my baby to an auto elec yesterday and got it back today without any work done..... have been told i need to find a headlight stalk and a petrol sender (which to me kinda defeats the point of going to an auto elec ) then they can fix. the only part i needed that they have was the blinker relay, which they didn't put in.... at least they didn't try to charge me anything. so anybody who has either, or knows where i can get them please let us know thanks

hi all ive been busy last few days so all ive done is take off as much rust as i could find and treat the rusted areas with septone after that i just primed it to stop rust from growing while i get my act together and figure out which way im going to go, maybe a bog job.......... while i save to have it done properly along with paint, a few more months bogged up wont hurt will it? after all the main goal right now is to get the car on the road

I'm thinking I'm going to have a go at the hatch area tomorrow if its real bad then i might have to get another car but if possible i want to keep doing what I'm doing and go without a car for a while. i don't need to drive for work so it taking a while longer to fix isn't too much of an issue and i get alot of free time to work on it so hopefully ill be able to get it in decent shape in a month or two. im enjoying the restoration its moving along an becoming more and more my baby also having ya'll to talk to has given me alot more confidence i think its too late im hooked on Z lol

i want it on the road as soon as possible like in the next month or so, but at the same time i want it to be done right and i only have about $1500 saved for it atm which i don't think will be anywhere near enough. my brother thinks i should get another car for the moment to drive and take my time on the dato. i want the 260z though not some normall car lol
