Dang it. I took a couple of photos and then packed the camera into the car I'll post up once I arrive and unpack.

Hello everyone, I am parting with my car as this beautiful machine does not deserve to be collecting dust in my garage. I have over $15,000 of receipted work. In terms of mechanics here is some of the work that has gone into it: • New driveshaft uni joint • New master cylinder • New heater core • Electronic ignition • Rebuilt distributor and alternator • Sports cam • Sports extractors and exhaust • Triple Weber DCOE 45 carburettors • K&N air filters • Fully rebuilt motor (7,000km since rebuild) I have removed all the rust and plated (not bogged) any holes. Since then the car has been garaged and fully resprayed (two pack). The interior is in good condition and could really shine with a little work. Finally, it is registered in Queensland until September 2013. I'm currently in Canberra but will be driving back up to the Gold Coast mid week, hence the two locations. I'm looking for offers around the $9,500 mark but do have room to move. You can PM on here or call or SMS outside business hours, or SMS during business hours - 0466 332 357. More photos to come.

Thanks for the tip Spamaster, but when I rang they couldn't find one :-\ I'll bump this once more and see what happens

Bumping in hope

Should have specified that...I need other outside handle. If that's the case I'm an ambi-opener so whatever you've got will suit me fine.
-
Long story short when I went to put the one @galderdi sent me I discovered my landlord thought they were junk and tossed them. While I have enjoyed the extra security no handle-free door has afforded me it makes opening my car a bit of a hassle. So I'm in the market for another one. Anyone got something lying around?
-
The pivot has completely snapped off both sides and I'll need to get a replacement anyway. Thanks for the 120Y modification suggestion but I want to get it on with as little fuss as possible. @galderdi, sent you a PM.

My door handle snapped off last night so I am in need of a replacement. Can anybody help me out?

Ahh that makes more sense, I thought you meant you got 40L/100K driving to Winton.

I forgot to mention that I was carrying a bike, clothes, a couple bags, a few smaller boxes and one larger box labelled, "LJR 260Z Parts". Running a little rich there haha. I was really surprised when I crunched the numbers. I guess driving through relatively flat country right after having a tune-up does help though. Pssh, auto...definitely a MANual (for manly men ) Thanks for the link, 9.2L/100KM works out to be 25.98MPG (Imp) or 21.63MPG (US) I tried to convert your track economy using the TDI Club link: "L/100KM field has invalid data: 80 not in range"

I know I'm posting in a zombie thread, but I (finally) have some numbers to contribute. I drove down to Canberra from the Gold Coast on Saturday filling up with either Vortex (Caltex) or Vpower (Shell) until the bowser pump clicked once whilst taking odometer readings and keeping receipts as I went. Setup is manual '76 2+2 with a newly rebuilt L26 (stock bottom and top), performance cam, triple DCOE 45s (tuned slightly to the lean side) with the manifold match ported, extractors, Pertronix ignition and a flamethrower dizzy. I did however forget to widen the spark gap to my preferred 0.045". It goes without saying that I adhered to all the road rules and at no time drove recklessly or above the speed limit Working it out now in the end I drove 1124 kilometres (averaging very roughly ~95km/h) and used 103.34 litres of fuel (wait, what? That economical?). In short, 10.88 kilometres per litre or 9.2 litres per 100 kilometres.

I need one with as little rust as possible and with the lip largely intact. I tried to have one made up but the sheetmetal places here sadly aren't clever enough.
-
Sounds like you had a good time, let me know when the next one is on and I'll see if I have any better luck.
-
Just realised, I have prior engagements so I have to skip out again. One day...
-
At this stage I can get there, but by not in the vehicle of choice courtesy of some...extensive rust issues
-
Thanks, ended up getting the Bosch one that was on there reco'd (apparently better than the Hitachi they were going to put on it)
-
Well after much sitting in the yard waiting for parts and rusting, the solution is at hand. Still needs the timing done (after I empty out half a tank of regular) and the chokes set up but we're slowly coming together.
-
Had a riffle around in the old threads but couldn't find what I was looking for. Basically as the title describes, I don't want to have to muck around with trying to get stuff to fit/work. Any suggestion 60A or above would be fantastic. Thanks in advance.
-
I'm guessing anyone reading this will be doing so after the event but for what its worth my timing has confounded both me and the mechanic so I won't be there tonight.
-
Update: We're running rather rough since I put the new ignition in so I'm getting the timing looked at tomorrow. If all goes well (i.e. no other problems) I'll still be on track to make it. Is anyone coming from Gold Coast way that wants to meet on the way there? I'm thinking the Coomera BP/truckstop would be easy enough to get to.
