Hi all,
Well, it all starts for me a few weeks back. I was talking to a friend about how the import car scene had become so popular and how our once prized silvias and skylines had become a common site. With this in mind I began to search the net for something that would define me from rest of the pawns in the import scene. I chose to stick with my Nissan roots and began to delve back into time and of course i found the 240z.
Getting overly excited as i usually do. I began searching all the forums and carsales for my first z. Last week i bought one from Melbourne (definitely impluse), probably overpriced and rusty as hell, but I'm still very excited. It should arrive at my door sometime in the next few weeks and so will my restoration plans!!!!
I will be looking to auszcar for inspiration and alot of help (who are the sydney siders?). I have decided to look good before i go fast and have a few questions if some of you can help me out?
Basically Phase One of my plans include:
1. Clean the rust! I'm told drivers side floor plan needs replacing. Is there a autoparts shop in Sydney that can supply direct replacements? i might need the frame rails too
2. Flares. ZG flares, who supplies good quality ones and can deliver to Sydney?
3. Paint. Can't decide between silver and black.
4. Suspension. don't know where to start, i want it lower and to handle a little better.
5. Wheels. ROTA Rb 17X9.5 -19 offset (gorgeous) i think zomoto have some coming in Jan. fingers crossed i can get some. (if someone wants to sell me theirs in the mean time PM me!)
6. Interior. Probably do a DIY dash fix and new seats or re trim
After that i will look at options to make my z quicker. but thats another day and when the wallet isnt as light.
Anyways guys thanks for listening to the gibberish of a new z owner, any input criticisms are welcome.
Cheers,
Kenny
