  1. The guy's name is Cedric, he is willing to get them built to any design. This set cost me under $1000 delivered. His email address is mxp.5700@gmail.com
  2. Yeah, I just gave the guy the bolt spacing.
  3. Also the top mount has the correct bolt location to fit our zeds
  4. I have had these coil overs made with tubes to suit 260z struts. I have only just recieved them so i haven't started adapting to the struts yet. With this setup you can get the spring rate you like with adjustable dampener and adjustable height. I was going to do some photos of them assembled.
  5. Hi Alan, It was us that had the problem with Vicroads. We overcame it with satisfying regulation 8 which allows for engine swap of similar size motor. We then gave them info I downloaded showing a 7% increase in horsepower and workshop manual for the 280z and other stuff. I have tried to upload this info onto this forum but when scanning the doc's the file was too large. I am happy to email or fax to anyone who would like.
  6. I will dig up the box for the part number. It works fine, it comes as one unit not with the chrome threaded ring. Repco sells that ring as a seperate item. Bursons have it on their listings. Took a day to get it down from Melb to Geelong
  7. Bought mine 3 weeks ago for about $18 from Bursons. Repco was $50
  8. At the moment the wheels are 15 by 8 with 225's. We want to go a bit bigger diameter and drop it down a bit. Wanted to get thru rego first. The mirrors we sourced from USA. wanted ones with LED indicators as we removed the side guard indicators. I think they came from a hotrod parts supplier. Here is the engine bay at present.
  9. Thank you. The front dam incorporates the bumper bar and is closer to body work where it wraps around under headlights. It is fibreglass. We got it from US but modified it and the flares.
  10. And the answer is......... Regulation 8 as Benji referred to earlier. We downloaded heaps of info on the comparison in power and how the 280z was also manufactured in 1977 in the USA. Even copied an ebay advert for a Haynes manual covering 240z,260z & 280z. So we got it registered this afternoon. Thanks to all you guys for your help. Here is a foto of Cam & ! with our girl. Took seven & a half years, now we can enjoy. We will be getting better wheels and finishing off things but for a while we will just enjoy.
  11. Sorry only one went through
  12. Just a couple of photos of our 260
  13. Yeah 1977, I wish I knew more about the emission requirements 8 years ago. 75 would be a better year
  14. Thanks Lurch & Benji. I rang Trevor, he laughed, said Ben had just rang before me. He tried to help but alas. One of my concerns is if I go the engineer path they may not pass the emmissions from triple webers as they run a bit rich and the carbon cannister would probably have to connect all 3 carbies. Also I only run filters on the rocker cover and crankcase vents. Could try and find some original 1977 carbies with plumbing
  15. YOUNGGI, glad to know there is someone else in the area. Sometimes it is hard to get things like the other day going for RWC we had to find wheels, luckily a guy in Queenscliff I know had a set to borrow. Be good to catch up some time.
  16. Yeah that was our old girl. We bought of a guy up in the Dandenongs who had been doing sprints with it.
  17. Thanks guys, I thought we might be on a winner. Rang Nissan head office, spoke to an uninterested person there who quickly palmed me off to the local dealer. Spoke to the service dept. That guy was probably related to the Vicroads guy. Said he knew all about this problem but the only way forward would be an engineer cert. or go bush to another VR office. But as someone said earlier, it may be flagged on the computer. I spoke to an ex-cop I work with, he was also stunned. He didn't like my idea of restamping numbers. Seems they can detect false number impressions. (Not that I would resort to that!!)
  18. I like Benji's comments "an engine that is not the same type as offered by the manufacture of the vehicle as original, but is similar in power, weight and emission standards to that of the original engine, may be fitted to such a vehicle.” Except for similar "power and emissions", but I will be throwing this at them if we do try again. Thanks guys for your supportive comments. The fresh light of day may find a way!!!!
  19. According to our man head office would question the discrepancies unless he could justify. We are in Geelong, the nearest other office is Ballarat. We never expected this problem. We had trouble with first roadworthy with 8 inch wide wheels and had to install a carbon cannister on to the weber carbies (well it looks like it is connected) If we can't convince them we would have to put a L26 in then change back after. Or one suggestion is to file eng. no off and restamp using a sacrificial L26 motor. Either way is a lot of stuffing around. First I will try finding specifications and try and convince them
  20. I remember there was one particularly nice one. We were mid field usually. Made a lot of friends doing it. My brother ran a red 260z so we were mainly trying to beat him.
  21. We got our roadworthy this morning, took it to vicroads, every thing went well until the guy saw the engine number. Won't accept a L28 in a 260z as that model does not have the matching engine numbers. We "debated" it with him for an hour unsuccessfully. He requires either confirmation that this motor was available in this model or an engineers report. Spoke to 2 engineers, if you have a later year motor then all emission junk must be on the motor. Pretty hard with triple webers. Anyone had the same trouble? Anyone know where we can get 280z formal spec's to prove the S30 came with the L28?
  22. We did the sprints in the old 240z it was blue on top of white. Did that till late 2005. It was pretty rough but we had heaps of fun. I will get fotos up when I can reduce their file size.
  23. Hi, a quick introduction. My son and I own a 260z two seater and a 240z. We had a 240z we used for marque sports car events. I noticed it showed up in the "spotted" segment. Anyway we bought the 260 about eight and a half years ago. At the time the car had run a turbo L26 with Gnose a metal flared guards. It had an accident with front damage. Anyway we have been at it a long time, it now has the following; Front air dam MSA type L28 with triple webers 8 inch mags, 15 inch dia Lots of replaced or refurbished parts. We will post up some fotos in the future. We are in Geelong Vic, but only one of us is unfortunately a Cats supporter.

    2+2 Carpet Kit

They assured me it was for 2 seater, the 2+2 is a 7 piece set, this is a 5 piece. Apart from the side pieces the rest of the pieces roughly fit, but then again so would any mat from supercheap autos.

    2+2 Carpet Kit

I recently ordered a carpet set from Tru Fit (ironical name as they don't fit). I returned them by courier and requested refund, they do not return calls or emails, so just a word of warning take your car there and fit them before paying. Our car is a 1976 2 seater, the side carpets and floor mats don't match seat rails.
