I am seeking quotes for a shipment of these mounts to Adelaide. It's not really a 'group buy' in the sense that the unit will be any cheaper than normal, it's more of a freight consolidation exercise to see if we can get them shipped cheaper in numbers.

So far I have 6 interested (final numbers depend on cost):

2 for me

2 for zzzzed

2 for RBZ 260

I'm still awaiting freight quotes - but I notice that in the HybridZ thread there is someone now wanting one shipped to Sweden!

Ok, I have a quote...

Shipping cost for 8 mounts is $215USD, so for the individual is works out to $26.88USD shipping cost on top of the $50USD purchase price.

I don't think that's too bad really.

BUT, I haven't bought any big $ purchases from the US lately, and I believe that the customs laws have changed a bit. My point is that individuals need to be prepared to cough up more $ to deal with any duties that may arise.

I will consider taking deposits depending on how 'concrete' the commitment is, or isn't.

I propose that once this is done, we'll all pay Brad on HybridZ our share of the money and the mounts will be shipped to me in Adelaide. I will advise buyers of any duties to be paid if applicable (with supporting evidence) and individuals will transfer their share of those costs to me. I will then pay the duties and get the goods released.

I can accommodate interstate orders to make up the numbers (I expect that the freight cost would be relatively higher if we bought less units), but there will be a domestic charge to get the goods to you.

Final Adelaide delivery can be by arranged meet or pickup - I spend a bit of time on the road so might be able to drop them off to workplaces etc.

After trolling the customs site for about the last 30 minutes, I've concluded that the signing of the USFTA has removed all tariffs on car parts originating from the US effective yesterday.

This is good news for those of us that buy bits from 'Uncle Sam' on a regular basis for our Zeds

But back to these diff mounts;

I need confirmation from those others that have shown interest, but I am aware that it's the silly season and people may be on holidays.

There's no 'rush' but I'm going to say that the end of this month is the cutoff for this 'group buy'.

When the purchase has been finalised I will require via pm or otherwise, evidence of your Paypal transaction to Brad on HybridZ. Once we've all paid (or broken the thumbs of those that haven't) the deal will be done.

That I won't know until I get my hands on one and get a quote. I'd suggest that they could be 3kg airbagged overnight for about $20.
