luvemfast Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 I was playing around and thought ya'll might have opinions. Shave the rear of the 280..... Wadayathink? Should I do it? Any tips? Looking to borrow a gasless mig welder next week of a friend and I have 4 weeks off work. Quote
luvemfast Posted December 12, 2008 Author Posted December 12, 2008 Sneak peak of the front. Seems that my nose cones are fibreglass, is that stock for S130 cars? Quote
zzzzed Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Do it! it makes it look more like a 240z. Coming from an experienced panel beater, I would use a gas mig if i could get my hands on one, and go slow so you don't warp it to much. Is this a 2 seater 280zx? I would love one of those Quote
zzzzed Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 P.S i would give you a hand if you where closer Quote

I would love one of those I think it gives it better lines, worried that I'll stuff it up though. Problem with gas mig is that you need an argon bottle and it costs a bit to rent them out now days. God knows they charge heaps now for CO2 for my home brew. Yes, its a 2 seater. Here's one for sale by another member. http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,3305.0.html Quote
zzzzed Posted December 12, 2008 Posted December 12, 2008 Yes the bottle is a bit pricy if you are only going to use it once, but if you use it all the time like me, its worth it. I just payed my bottle rental for the year today. $158 I did see that 280zx 2 seater for sale. It would be good but i already have 3 zeds and a 1963 blubird wagon. Oh and my mighty triton, full of dents Quote
Dingo Dave Posted December 20, 2008 Posted December 20, 2008 If you think that argon is pricey you should see what it costs for acetylene. i have use oxygen, acetylene, argon shield and argon in my workshop. Quote
luvemfast Posted December 20, 2008 Author Posted December 20, 2008 Yeah CO2 went up from $17 a year, to $130 odd The idea of home brew is for lots of cheap beer, when they charge like that its no longer cheap. I've since gotten my hands on some bottles to keep, just need to have them filled . Don't know about anyone else. But drinking when I'm working in the garage seems to help my ideas and motivation. Not unlike my pool skills. I've seen the video on youtube Scoota (or is it Vlad), so you had better back me up Quote
