chris240 Posted November 3, 2012 Posted November 3, 2012 Fellas For sometime now my zed has a mystery amperage leak...with ignition off, the battery is drawing 1/4 0.25 of an amp from somewhere ...I connected my multimeter to the - battery terminal ( as instructed by Dimitri over the phone ) and one by one removed each fuse to see if I could shortlist the gremlin, but to no avail. My earth battery terminal has a turndial isolator on it , otherwise my battery would drain in a couple of days.. Im suspecting a bulb of sorts is shorting , or could the clock be using 0.25 of an amp, when it decides to randomly work ? Any thoughts. Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted November 3, 2012 Moderators Posted November 3, 2012 Chris, another way to check is to remove each fuse and place the multimeter probes (with your meter still in the amp reading mode) across each fuse holder and check which one is drawing the amps. One guess would be the glove box light? remove the globe and check. Or if the box has been closed for a while, open the glovebox and check if the globe and holder is very hot meaning its been on for a while. Then try unplugging the alternator, coil etc.. Quote
