Hi Guys,

I seriously need to sort out my current seat belt situation.  The magnets or something are just not holding like they used to and I can be driving along and the seat belt just falls open.  So far I've found limited information on HEMCO seat belts.  Does anyone know the model and sizes I need for my 1971 240z?  Can the inertia ones be an option?  Perhaps someone has a spare pair they no longer require?

Any ideas would be great.

Cheers

I was looking at the hemco rectractor seatbelts for my 240z as well and was wondering if the 60-90 degree retractor belts would work on the zed?

I bought the HEMCO belts for my 75 Zed (i live in the same town that makes them) and they are great but you would need the hardware to convert for the 240Z. They have strut tower brackets and the belt loop which guides the belt around the seat.

Ive been running 4 point harness for long time but to keep engineer happy i had to fit std belts back in So i went to local repco and found klippan lap sash belts to suit rear of a 180b of all things bolted right up perfect suited my needs

I know when looking through the klippan catalog  there where more options with inertia reels than lap sashs might be worth a look

I adapted '74 260Z seat belts to my '73 240Z.

The shoulder retractor bolts to the same place the stock shoulder harness did, above the window, you'd think they would look huge and out of place, but they really don't.

For the lower retractor, I had to use the old 240Z bases, and springs, and fit the newer belt webbing to them. It takes some nads to start taking the mechanisms apart, and being careful, when removing the spring, they will not unwind on you.

I don't know how your laws would look at this, since it seems that fitting a wider tire requires an engineering certification...

Well I've gone with the HEMCO lap/sash static belt and they have installed perfectly.  Both buckle stems are made for left and right specific so they fit spot on.  I spoke to Wayne at the shop and he knew just the items I was after for my 71 Zed.

Here's some snaps of all the products I received and a scan of the codes for anyone interested.
