Hi again everybody! ;D

After a long gruelling ordeal with finding, chasing and eliminating rust, I am stoked to say, we now have paint!

A new addition also is the front air dam (thanks to Warren at All Z Parts). AND *finally* got my restored dash back today!

Next up comes dash going back in, windscreens going back in, then we're off to the mechanic for a full health check and I'll be ferrying parts to and from the upholsterer in the mean time...  :D we're on the way  ::)

I am considering having my grille chromed- thoughts? Also I am a little concerned about the back badges for the boot lid- I have seen some with Datsun (on the angle) and 260z underneath, and some with Datsun (on the angle) and 2+2 underneath. Being that this is a 2+2 does that mean I should have the latter on her?

Hi Retro Z,

Thanks  ;D

Yeah it's black- the photos aren't too great, I just ducked round to the painters and took a couple on my phone, when she comes out to go to the mechanic I'll take a bunch more and post them up with pics of the dash as well  :D :D :D

Its funny because just yesterday i always talking to another forum member (Vramjee) as we are both in the process of restoring our cars and i said to him "nobody has done Gloss black... one of us should do gloss black"  Fast foward 30 hrs and you've painted your car Black!..  ;D

Love it, can't wait to see the car all done. ;)

Is there heaps of dust on it? Makes it look more satin than gloss... Looks great though! Be prepared to wash every weekend.

Looks great. Does it have a metallic through it? Or is it a grainy picture ???

Anyway, well done.

The biggest gripe I have with owning a black Z is the loss of contrast, where you loose details and those sexy lines.

Not to mention on track, you can't actually tell it apart from other black cars until its very close.

Hi everyone, thanks for the awesome comments  ;)

Yes, that Greenbank dust is a killer, guess I'll just have to drive fast enough to keep it off.... 8)

You should definitely think about it Retro Z, it makes them look sooooo sexy. :)

Have some new side repeaters ready to install, thanks for the link Stivva.

Yeah it has a layer of dust on it in the photos, and they aren't that great a quality, but yep she's gloss and no, not metallic- I'd spend forever trying to make it look clean! (what am I saying, I'll have to be doing that anyway!)

Luvemfast, call me cheeky, but isn't the idea that on the track you aren't anywhere near the other black cars trailing behind you? LOL  ::)
