260z engine options

I have a 260z,I am coming to the part of the resto' that calls for an engine decision....I want an easy upgrade to the power question.

I need to know what engins will bolt up to the original 5spd box...it has a L26 now.... is thier a better one eg;L28 or turbo motor from the same era...eg:zx300....or a v8 kit...as you can see I know nothing about what will go in with ease...HELP !!  :-\

Many a discussion has been had about this, it depends on how much power you want, how much torque, what the uses are going to be, how much you can afford, do you want to keep it in the Datsun/nissan family or dont really care?

I think I will go the stroker motor,if it bolts up to my original box.

Does anyone know if it does?

I guess the only other thing I can think of it an original turbo motor, out of a 300zx (if it bolts up)

300zx is a different motor...a stroker is the same, assuming ur talking about a stroker L series. this is quite an expensive option, where abouts do u live? i would love a turbo 280zx motor, but they are expensive in australia...
