luvemfast Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Is it possible for your car to be quiet Steve? I'd love to enter, but going away with the family the day before :'( and all at the same time Quote
zr240 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 No slicks so I am out Also I am out of town this weekend as well. Ash Quote
redrbzed Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 I'm in, will be trying out my new in cabin adjustable dual master cylinder brake setup. Quote
chev z Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Empty house Simon , where do u reside again...lol Pity u r not attending The 240 is getting a exhaust upgrade / downgrade to comply with sandown residential noise levels and have gone back to semi slicks, which will be an interesting experience. Placed 4 degrees of castor on the front end using the arizona z lower control arms and castor arm upgrade, this doubles the degrees of castor that we originally dialled in.Can't go any further as the tyres will hit the guards.I had to cut 30mm off the front left guard to get the 4 degrees as it was. Catch u all there, Steve and Deb Quote
chev z Posted February 28, 2012 Author Posted February 28, 2012 Just been emailed that I have to get a CAMS , an extra $95 , licence to compete even tho I have a AASA licence . It amazes me that you need two [ 2 ] race licences to be able to participate at all events, when I only need one Vic. car licence to travel all over Aust to get to these events. And I bet the driving licence is cheaper, given that a car licence is for 5 or 10 [?] years So whats the go? Quote
luvemfast Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Slick looking set-up Sinisha. Steve, have you got that wing on from Peter? You'll need some aero at Sandown, when you're used to slicks. Edit- Just get a CAMS license. But the whole ruling is pretty gay Quote
PZG302 Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 CAMS and aasa are two different organisations providing the insurances etc. As such if you run both organisations events then you need both licences. I've needed both a CAMS and aasa licence to race up here in Qld. Unfortunately that's the way it is with 2 sets of organising bodies. Quote
dat2kman Posted February 28, 2012 Posted February 28, 2012 Msca sandown, it is just sprints/lapdash? Then its a cams L2s at around the $90, equivalent aasa their clubman is around $55 (hete in qld) aasa will accept a cams full circuit race licence, as long as you have purchased the aasa clubman at $55, for full on flag to flag racing at aasa tracks, in qld, BUT, if you have a aasa full race licence at their approx $200, cams will not accept that. Go figure, both mobs use the same underlying insurance mob!! Quote
Gordo Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 I was very close to entering this event, but have lots going on ATM . The zed has a blown head gasket, but the GTR is ready to go, but sadly things need to be done around the house with all the storms etc. There is a Jag day at PI on the 16 th of April with passenger sessions, I may be tempted. So Steve and Deb where did you end up staying? Quote
Whoray Posted February 29, 2012 Posted February 29, 2012 Steve You are welcome to stay here if you wish. Ron ( Simon's Dad) Quote
chev z Posted February 29, 2012 Author Posted February 29, 2012 Staying at best western, was put off by the wording of one establishment, apparently they are " gay friendly " , I was really confused by this .Do they mean they are gay and friendly or happy and friendly or tolerate gays or are themselves gay and friendly or themselves friendly towards gays that are happy, got way to confusing for me so went somewhere else. Gee I hope "best western" isn't code for "brokeback mountain",it was a western . Personally I don't give a hoot if u r gay or not as long as your happy ,as they say on seinfeld about being gay " NOT THAT THERE"S ANYTHING WRONG WITH THAT " Ron just recieved your offer while I was typing ,we have already booked but would love to catchup, we are intending to stay for a extra day atleast. If you go to the meet perhaps afterwards we could throw some green prawns onto the motel BBQ and down a beer or two Quote
