what does it do?

The rear Bias speaks for itself I guess

 

But the other bit, ensures equal fluid and pressure is applied to front brakes either side. (I think)

 

I am not up on tech stuff so happy for anyone else to chime in with the correct answer.

 

Working fine- I dont need anymore with the new system.

For roadworthy purposes we need a brake warning light to come on, if there is a system fault, the shiny silver thing does this, it has a side to side plunger in it, if there is a leak fail on one side of car, plunger moves, thus causes electric contact and dash light comes on.

It has no other function, and does not offer prportioning or rear line pressure reduction.

 

The other thing, on left, is the rear brake line pressure limit unit, to stop over pressure on rear lines causing rears to lock. Ie in a "oh shyte shyte shyte" moment, you STAND on brake pedal, it reduces tendency for rears to lock, thus causing rear end slide out of control, turning it into a " pharque pharque pharque" drame.

 

It s factory set, on a graph it goes up at a 45 deg angle, then flatlines.

Some racers remove this, fit a screw in adjustable line pressure reducing valve, it goes from 100% downwards, this is not a proportioning valve though.
