Pedro Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Hi, I was wondering; Is there two different types of drums/drum linings (shoes) for 240z / 260z ? As in my car is a 12/75 260z A friend has a set of brake shoes which he said were for 260z but mentioned that it depends on which drums i have (early or late) ? I thought there was only one drum / drum lining for all 260z? was there an early 260z shoe/drum and late? Any info appreciated on this one. Wont be able to check before the car goes in for a brake overhaul so thought i should ask first. Thanks again, Peter Quote
dat2kman Posted January 31, 2012 Posted January 31, 2012 Yes, two different type of lining backing shoe design, and backing plates with adjusters. Drums are all the same, new id is 228.6 worn id is 230.0 Im out to 231 id and getting cracks to drum linings. I do have a bendix or something chart page photocopy,,, somewhere,,, that has the two lining model reference numbers. Best idea, if you need linings, just send your old ones away for re lining, ask for "taxi" or heavy duty, last ones i did approx $80 for all four, and they match ground them to suit the half worn drums.
