TBOWGN Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi all, Its great to see such a helpful bunch of crew on here, ive already seen alot of cars im in love with Just bought a serious 1976 Z project with some serious rust issues, sometimes wondering if its all worth while?? However the body is dead straight and the engine runs well so we'll see how we go. Ive built up a few cars over the years, but nothing like this, so ill be asking a lot of questions along the way.... More so with rust, welding, finding replacement body parts and new paint work. Ill attach a few pics to give you an idea where im at... Cheers guys Lars This is the 260Z that i want to build! Give us a few years and i hope to say i have... Quote
be-zed Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hi Lars Good to have you on board and if your wondering, it is worth it. But we would tell you that any way. You have set yourself a high goal . Good luck with that . What mods do plan to have? Aub Quote
TBOWGN Posted December 29, 2011 Author Posted December 29, 2011 Thanks Aub, I was going to put an RB20DET in it (or similar), but i think ill just run with the original engine for the moment. I want to focus on the exterior and just make it a cruiser. Im really keen on this grey one above without the chrome and rear bar. Cheers Quote
Jk_zeder Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Sweet another Gold Coaster, sure is a few of us now. Welcome to the boards and good luck with the build mate, be sure to yell out if you need a hand with anything. James Quote
EMPRACING Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Hell yeah another bus!!! and by the way when you ask yourself if its worth it look at that grey car (i love that one too i nearly got flairs when i saw that) get a pic printed get it on your phone just do what it takes to keep going because you know it will be in the end forget about the money too you cant take it with you haha I'm a bit far away but if its a big job i can throw in the offer to help also. And one other thing stick to the stock(ish) drive line till you get her on the road then think about any big mods. I'm going the other way and its going to hurt $$$o bad!! cheers Quote
FuzzyDropbear Posted December 29, 2011 Posted December 29, 2011 Welcome Lars, good to see another bus getting some love. Dash looks to be in good condition and at least you have a running engine. That's more than what I started with when I bought my first Z. Good luck with the project. Cheers. Quote
