Hi All

Just wondering what is the best fuel to use in an original 240Z. I am looking at an original (to add to my collection) but what fuel do I run?

Priemium 98 with additive or without???

Any help would be great

I run mine with bp ultimate plus additive.

i find it the most consistant premium.

but i dont think a stock zed would require premium would it?

i only use it because of the shaved head etc.

My Stock 260Z with all the pollution crap runs on 95 Premium and Ultimate and Optimax and Synergy 2000 but I still use fuel additive for every tank full it doesn't seem to make a difference to my car I have even run it on a blend of normal unleaded and premium still runs exactly the same I believe all the s30's have hardened valve seats??????? 8) Lynton

96 octane is fine to use in a stock 240z , but dont forget all pump fuels are unleaded, dont kid yourself with octane boosters cause more damage to an engine than most people could possibly imagine , the same with high levels of ethanol tho dont get me wrong ethanol is good , just have to change your fuel filter more often than without ethanol, stock 240z have bronze alloy valve seats and dont seal properley even on leaded fuel so unleaded will only make things worse, valve seat pocketing is horendouse on 240z, only one solution peel the head off and fit quality valve seats only then will you be able to tune the engine to perfection on modern fuels dazzed.

i just use 95 octane or 98 and once a mounth or so ill run a bit of etherblend fuel trough it not too much just bout 10L seems to clean my engine out but i have had no trouble at all running it on 95 unleaded and ive been doing it for a couple of years now i wont use aditives the last time i did my carby craped itself and i had to strip the whole carb down to clean it
