53-681 Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Hello everyone, It is very unfortunate that my 260Z has sustained some hail damage from yesterday I have about 5 dents in total. 1 on the bonnet 4 of the roof 1 on the hatch lid (Also has a crack just above it due to the impact) :'( :'( Is hail damage easily repairable? How much will it cost? Will it ruin the vehicle's current original color tone if repair is done? I'm very upset and let down about this incident Quote
benny Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 man that sucks... insured?? seeing you've just had the body and paint done the shop that did it can fix it and there shouldn't be any difference in tone. Luckily with the zed the panels are easy to get to so it shouldn't be too much work!! Depending on the dints many shops use PDR(paintless dent removal) Quote
zzzzed Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 I have fixed cars that have had around 20 hail dents in each panel. So 5 in total would be a walk in the park. As Benny said take it to the shop that re sprayd it for you and they will be able to match the paint and blend it in so you wont even notice it. I cant say how much it will cost as every shop is different. The shop I work in is the cheapest in my area at a guess without seeing it we would prob charge around 5 to 6 hundered Quote
Sirpent Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Buddy Contact Darren Taylor owner of Dent Maestro. Darren was the first paintless dent removal guy in Australia and the best I have ever seen, I helped him set himself up in business 15 years ago when I was with Fowles and then later Auto Group, this guy used to golf ball brand new cars in front of Ford Holden and Toyota management to show them just how big of a dent he could straighten out. His number is 0412-010-nine-10 Tell him John.O. from old Auto Group reffered you. Cheers john Quote

Sirpent Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Darren owns dent Maestro, and has 5 odd guys in vans servicing all of Melbourne they come to you, all are trained by him but if you can get Darren you are getting the best. We used to prep manufacturers cars before auction, I have seen him do an entire hailed car in a day with 50+ dents on it from the size of $0.05 pieces to golf ball sized dents and unless you knew where the dent was you would never spot it. As long as the paint isnt cracked and it is metal (no bog beneath it) you will be amazed what these guys can do. Quote
53-681 Posted December 26, 2011 Author Posted December 26, 2011 The dent I have on the hatch lid has a slight 3cm thin crack just above the dent What are their approximate prices? I've already submitted an online quote request from their website. Thanks heaps John Quote
Sirpent Posted December 26, 2011 Posted December 26, 2011 Buddy cant say for certian, but Id say you would get out of it for less than $200 Quote

I feel a bit better now shannons will cover it as "laid up" insurance for less the $20 a month might be worth while though not sure if this covers things like hail damage?? Quote
