Have had the 5 speed gearbox installed !!! Should have done it years ago.Its made it a completley different car. 100kph - 2400rpm, Quick off the line too.

Rob down at Zworkz done a bloody good job as usual. All I got to do now is learn to drive the car differently--- difficult after all this time.

Thanks Warren & Rob

Great news Jim,

I'm sure you enjoyed the drive back to Omeo on Thursday!

Start planning for the great Zed re-union at the Historic Alpine Rally.

It will start at Lakes Entrance on Saturday/Sunday 3rd/4th December.

Look forward to catching up with you & Tess.

try and source a 3.7 ratio diff which came in the 260z 5sp - it will be much quicker (sit on around 2700rpm @ 100kph though). Sounds like you've still got the stock auto 3.36

Thanks for the replies Boys...

Vertexz, I have the 3.56 ratio diff still from the auto,at the moment Im happy with the way it goes, but if something goes wrong with that I will have to do some homework re ratios

Mike ,I gave it a bit of a squirt & was quitely smiling. Lakes sounds good to me

Natez, your right about more control, no dout about that.

Glad to hear that you are happy with the change over Jimbo. A manual car is so much more rewarding and pleasureable to drive. Now you just need to head for the hills to really get the best out of it.

as jeremy said, you must change your ratio... going from a 3.56 to a 3.7 or even better a 3.9 the car will become even more alive...

do it do it do it.... you won't regret it, its only an extra 400rpm or so on highways... we are already paying 1.26 a ltr for unleaded who cares about fuel with a Z
