luke240ZED Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Hi, I am almost through my front brake conversion and after all the machining, drilling, grinding etc... only to get to the moment of glory where I bolt up my new calipers and THEY DON'T FIT !!! After even more reading I now see that if the calipers are the S12+8 for vented rotors, I will need the 260z rotors to make the 9mm difference in the offset that my original 240z hubs have not. Please help me with my dilemma. Progress so far is here: http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,9932.0.html Cheers Luke Quote
MaygZ Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 Luke, the easiest way to fix your problem is to send your Hilux calipers to me and I'll convert them into calipers that will fit your current rotors. (I'll swap them for a set of 240 calipers) Quote
luke240ZED Posted November 15, 2011 Author Posted November 15, 2011 Hi MagyZ, Is it just a matter of milling down the caliper tab 9mm to make them fit or is it a bit more complicated. I've got a good contact locally with a C&C mill that could do this, I would just need the specs. Any help would be great. Cheers Luke Quote
Riceburner Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I would not machine anything off the caliper mounts, 9mm is a fair amount to remove. I ran into the same prob when I did this mod a year ago. The 260z hubs will be the easiest/best solution. Maybe the zed factory in mordialloc(Vic) has some or Warren at all Z parts(syd). Quote
DatPilot Posted November 15, 2011 Posted November 15, 2011 I think the S12 Gazelle and the Z31 300zx might be worht looking at too... both getting pretty hard to find at wreckers! Quote
