bullzed Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 So after purchasing Shaun's 260z a while ago, we freed the brakes up and I was amazed at how easily it could be rolled in and out of the shed. My question is, why doesn't my 280zx roll like that? Is it the extra 250kgs or could it be wheel alignment or alike? I know it's not the brakes, it's a daily driver. Any ideas?? Cheers, Zac Quote
DAZDA Posted October 25, 2011 Posted October 25, 2011 Tyres pressures Differences in front end geometry - Scrub radius, Toe, etc LSD or locked diff in the 280zx??? Quote
. Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 I doubt its the weight as a 280zx only weighs around 100KG more than a 260z 2+2 Quote
bullzed Posted October 26, 2011 Author Posted October 26, 2011 I was under the impression they were a lot heavier! It's an open diff in the 280zx, it must be the front end geometry me thinks. Quote
. Posted October 26, 2011 Posted October 26, 2011 It is a common misunderstanding. The 280 was seen as bloated because it was heavier than the 240 but in comparison to most cars on the road it is still light. The 280 is about 1230 KG while a 260 2+2 is around 1150 KG. (Now just wait for all the corrections to flood in) Quote
dat2kman Posted October 27, 2011 Posted October 27, 2011 Pump tyres up to 50 psi, even higher, rolls easy then, you did say you checked all brakes, the rears could have a bit of residual pressure in lines, and handbrake not fully releasing, at caliper end. Front pads can drag a tiny bit, but not enough to worry Quote
