Oh, I guess you were wanting some details :)

They are not cheap. There are better brake options around for less than the price but all the other options are dependant on your ability to engineer your own adaptors. If you can't do that you'll pay more than the difference for a professional to make them for you.

I am extremely happy with the kit I purchased 5 years ago. The advantage is the ability to just bolt it all on with no additional parts or midifcation required. Even for a mechanical novice like myself it was simple.

Getting a modifcation certification is much easier with these packages too because they seem to trust a package like these that are tried and proven over some bespoke design.

The results are also very good. I have not once found myself wanting for more brakes. Even at the end of Conrod quickly slowing from 200K +

Your only other viable options for the same money are if one of the generous people on this forum offers to engineer a conversion for some other brakes or to purchase a second hand package.

I hope that helps.... at least more than my previous reply.

Hi Galderdi,

Thanks for the feedback.

I know they are not cheap, but all is bolt on all parts are off the shelf, and the kit is easily be engineered.

Do they do a zed kit?  What about AZC kits?

Yes sco_aus they have bolt on kits using PBR brake parts.

I have attached the first page of the kit with the parts included.

The reason i have decided to not go with the AZC kit (which i was looking at) is the whole enginering thing and the handbrake!

I would prefer to have a kit that is all easily approved with no hassels.

Thanks again for the feedback.

John

I did a VT conversion on my last 240z it worked very well and more than up to the task. The hopper conversion is very similar in rotor sizing and calipers so I am sure the will work very well even for track work with the right pads.

As pointed out already bolt on easy to get certified. One question that covers the front what do the do for the rear?

Good question NZeder and one I have been considering too. I have a 15/16 ready and complete rotors/calipers from an S14, which I will probably use for the front set up on my car, the rears are a little more complicated with the handbrake etc.

So I got thinking... what about sticking with the rear drums!

Also got to thinking about the amount of work the rears do... my last bike was a Fireblade 929, there was always the old addage of 10% approx. braking from the rear, surely the drums could do their part. Other pluses are; They are already set up for the handbrake, they can be less effective when hot due to warping, but are just as effective if not more when cool. And the kicker... they are lighter...

I mean yes set up the front to plant you through the windscreen, but maybe the current rear set up is up to the job?

for a street car the drums are probably fine, however the impression ratio is dramatically improved by rear disc brakes.  That is why I am going to eventually do the conversion.  :)

Hoppers stoppers is a bolt on kit. They typically use commodore or falcon parts.  Reading the instruction you posted it appears that they are adapting the rear brakes from ford falcon/mustang.

DAT2kMAN told me about putting the ford rear brakes on a while ago and he may be able to provide you advice and importantly save you money.

There is a pretty easy conversion for rear disks using EA Falcon calipers and I think rotors as well, if i remember correctly, so you have the handbrake as well.
