Arizona Z Car - Are the parts any good?

Hey Guys,

 

Well, trying not to spend money on this thing is not working very well and now I'm looking at almost a crate load of Arizona Z Car Parts but before I spend the dollars I was wondering if I could get some input please on the quality and value of these parts. I am interested in:

 

1x Baffled Alloy sump - $449

1x Turbo Oil Pump - $89

1x Flywheel - $369

1x Pressure Plate - $149

1x Organic Clutch Plate - $79

1x Throwout bearing and Collar - $29

 

All in USD, which is 1:1 or close enough at the moment.

 

The real items that I want are the oil pan and the flywheel, but I am concerened over the fit of the oil pan and if it hangs below the cross-member/chassis rails and also how good the flywheel is? I don't know off hand how much mine weighs, but 5.5kg sounds a bit heavy to me for a full-on race flywheel?

 

If people with these bits could post what they think, that would be a huge help. I searched but couldn't find anything that really talked about the flywheel and/or value of AZC parts.

$150 for the sump alone.

 

The sump is highly regarded, the other parts I do not know.

$300 for the lot. I was more interested in the value if the individual parts, shipping is really just a thorn.

 

I'm glad to hear about the sump tho, I read some reports of poor fit, albeit several years ago, hence this thread.

no there a god fit now i have fitted  6 this year with no problem .... well only 1 did not fit because it was a 280z mmmdam

280Z or 280zx pete? Mine is a 280z technically, but can't see that bring an issue, it's identical to a 260z.

That ebay one looks scary john, a very serious bit of kit.

 

You've got me thinking about what I want now. I didn't want anything 2 weeks ago! Given it's a weekender not a full race unit I might just go worth the arizona stuff considering it sounds like their stuff is reasonable quality.

 

Peter, what would you normally put on a regularity car? If you don't mind me asking, that is. Club race stuff level. But, it's gotta be a quick car.

Hi, like many I used the Arizona sump on my latest L28 build. Fit was perfect.2cm below the front crossmember with slightly lowered poly engine mounts.  I also used the sideways Fly wheel - beautiful finish and no hastles driving with it despite its light weight and the sprung RPM 4 paddle plate.

I've got that 4kg billet flywheel. It's mentioned on hybridz as being exactly the same as the big brand flywheels. It was balanced perfectly and hasn't missed a beat. Race proven shifting all day at 7,000 rpm and above

AS Gareth said there as good as most will need for club level stuff i have a cm billet one for my motor that is half that weight but its 4 times the price ....you will pay $ 2500 for a AP racing twin plate and $ 800 for there flywheel this is as good as it gets for a Lseries ...but the azcar one will do the job on 99% of the club cars and ,Gareths car would have as much power as any out there so if he likes the way it works i think its probably a good thing
