However I had priorities, and could never buy one, and I could never bring myself to ask the parentals back in the day for the money to get one either. But now my priorities are sorted and I'm making a bit of cash. I know that by Jan/Feb 2012, I'll have over 11K, saved and ready to purchase a good condition Z, I live in Perth and I'm a sensible driver. Martin Falconer (tuneright) is also a VERY handy contact for zed cars and parts in WA, he's worth a buzz too, just google 'tuneright' to get in touch with him. Unfortunately, I don't think yo'll find your dream car at 11k, depending on your definition of 'good condition' you could easily be looking at 20k+, but it'll certainly be a good starting point for a fantastic relationship with her!
