Hi fellas, regarding the old 2-fourty, Im just wanting to know the ideal offsets for each rim width (enough to fill the stock guards). I read somewhere in here that for a 7" rim width a zero offset is ideal. What will be ideal for 7.5" and 8"?

yea it will be close, depending on dia, as you get nearer to thr spring perches you start to run outta room.

 

jack up the carfrom the control arms and measure with a straight edge across the wheel flange and a tape measure in the other.

the wider the wheel the lower the offset needs to be, as basically the backspacing has to stay constant. so if 0offset at 7" is ideal every inch added should be added to the front half, so this would make the offset for an 8" wheel -1inch, which is like -25 (1 inch in mm?)

 

the wide wheels people run with flares off the top of my head are 8.5"-6 and 9.5"-17 in general, which might help give you an idea of the maximum backspacing they use on each end and therefore what you'd need for wheels that will stay under the guards

 

ppl on hybridz run 16x8's with zero offset or like +4 or something small like that, and they stick out beyond the guards and look kinda crap because of this imho

a mate of mine had 16x8 centrlines on his 240z, lowered so it sat flat and a lil bit lower on the wheels and was a tight fit but they filled the gurads perfectly and just cleared the struts, no spacers or other mods.

 

But yes they wer a 16' wheel.
