Scottz Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 Last year I popped the question re 3 of SU's as a cheaper alternative to the tripple OER's, Mikuni's, Dellorto's, Weber's and what-ever. NZeder replied that there was information out in the worldwideweb somewhere about it. I searched around and found Marc Sayer's June 1999 paper at www.zhome.com and it basically said you can have a go, but it will be a dog. Well someone did have a go. And it's for sale on ebay USA right now. Check it out. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/DATSUN-240Z-260Z-280Z-CUSTOM-TRI-CARB-INTAKE-COM-RIGHTS-/370509125476?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item5644109764 To solve the problem, Marc Sayer suggested 6 of 1.25" SU's. Well someone has done 6 x 38mm carbs and it is also for sale right now on ebay Aust. Check it out! http://cgi.ebay.com.au/DATSUN-240K-240Z-260Z-280Z-KEIHIN-CARBY-SETUP-/120720309131?pt=AU_Car_Parts_Accessories&hash=item1c1b7dbb8b Now that's pritty cool Quote
Riceburner Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 I have 6 x 42mm Keihin carbs cost under $400 plus bit of time. see pic below The ultimate setup is done by Vintage perfomance developments in the USA, they do a set of 6 x 45 Mikuni HSR Flatslide carbs..... These babies will out flow 50mm Webbers apparently! They're on Eija's car in the featured rides section. $2095 for the set with linkages, no manifold. Quote
Scoota G Posted May 11, 2011 Posted May 11, 2011 A smarter bloke might have made a sand cast of the middle manifold and made one to suit SU and Weber pattern. Make it to a 4 cyl Manifold spec and then you can turn a dual to a triple. Quote
