Is the nylon mast available for the 260 antenna's ? If not, has anyone successfully repaired one using another make, such as Mercedes ? My motor appears to be working fine - up/down, so I suspect the mask is broken.

You should be able to buy a replacement mast, manually operate the motor to eject the remnants and then install the new mast, the only thing that stops a mast totally ejecting is the securing nut, leave this off and it will self eject.

Unlike a Hirschmann antenna, the mast/nylon line is apparently secured with a cotter pin, so I don't think a generic one will do the job. I have yet to remove it from the car and have a look, but the reference to the pin was in "How to restore your Datsun Z car".

That's the easy way ! I like the challenge of finding a way to repair original equipment. Just fixed the original Jeco clock yesterday and the antenna is the last item standing that doesn't work. I will check with Nissan tomorrow to see if the replacement mast is still available.
