Hi Guys,

i apologise in advance if i am in the wrong section (i know some forums frown upon selling things without a price), My best friend (a Z fanatic) recently died, he left me some Z bits and pieces which need to be sold as i have to clean out his garage for his family and i have no use for them.

Two of the items are  a reproduction fibreglass G-Nose and a set of matching g-nose hinges (i know he did have to buy these in from the US). The fibreglass nose had been fitted up to his 260Z 2+2 (we also breifly fitted it to my 240Z shell to see if it fitted that too), and is in primer. The hinges had been fitted but the car never really got driven (he really wanted a 2 seater  ;D)

he also had a set of ZG fibreglass flares, and a bobtail for a 2+2 (this is still in gelcoat)

What sort of price range should i be asking for these things? i recall he had to pay quite a lot for the hinges, but i have no idea.

Hi Kent, there are quite a few places that make/sell reproduction g-noses, maybe a few pics would help. I know Alfa fibrglass and Zed car customs do the G-noses somewhere around $800-$900 mark, but there are plenty of others doing them too. The hinges I have seen are about $200.

Hi Kent

Price also depends on whether its a 5 piece (more expensive) or 1 piece (cheaper) zg nose.

Flares are usually around $200 to $300

bobtail about $150?

I thought a 2 peice G-nose was more expensive or desirable than a 5 peice? Anyway I got my 2 peice second hand off eBay for $650- a couple of years back. The question is how good a reproduction is it? Some fit well but most don't. How well did the nose fit up to your Zeds?

Cheers

The 5 piece is a copy of the original Nissan item, and being 5 separate pieces it has some adjustment to fit better (especially if your cars had the odd bingle). Nissan never made a 3 piece (as far as I know). If your after originality, the 5 piece copy is the one to go for.

The cheaper G noses skimp on the aerodynamics in the front "mouth" area of the car. And by skimp, I mean its usually not there at all.

There's a guy in Japan that makes the best (most original) copy, but its expensive at around  $1400 for the very basic version without hinges, plus shipping to Australia.
