From the other day driving up to mt coother to see the lights turn off for earth hour my suspensions been playing up abit.. Keeps making a noise looks to me like somethings not connected but like everything with my car something probably just broke lol

Here is my good left rear:

Would it be the coil, bushing, shocky thats given up?

Looks to me like the rubber in the strut top has given up the ghost...  Without really remembering how a Zed rear strut is put together, I'd say you need a replacement strut top, as usually the rubber is bonded into the metal of the top (which is what those 3 studs are a part of.)

Stevo, come around on the weekend and see if the wreck has what you need.  I've still got that master cylinder if you want it, I'm sticking with the original.

yup. Looks like the whole strut top has failed and is just floating around up there.

The strut top, the bit that's busted, is a bit of rubber mounted to a metal plate, much like a gearbox mount etc.

 

I picked up 2 second hand one's out of a wreck over here for $30 I think a couple months ago. I thought that was about fair value. It's hard to jusge value of second hand parts like this tho, I can't imagine they are all that popular yet I suspect they would be very expensive new...
