redrbzed Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Recently I purchased a set of Techno Toy Tuning rear lower control arms and decided to have some bushes made. As I have a Ron Tyler type diff mount I thought that the rear diff cross member was redundant. The design of the bushes combines the clamp and bush for a neater fit, this also gives added strength and allows the rear roll centre to be raised a bit. If you're interested I had Chris Woods make them. cheers, Sinisha Quote
Sirpent Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Sinisha, Nice to see you back on the forum, you disappeared around the time I joined. Question, how do you find the qaulity of the Techno gear? cheers john Quote
redrbzed Posted February 21, 2011 Author Posted February 21, 2011 Hi John, I have their front lower control arms and caster rods as well. Contacted them and spoke about what I was doing with my car, they explained that their products are used on cars raced in desert rallies and are over engineered for most applications. So I thought, price is good, product looks OK, give them a try. Sinisha Quote
Sirpent Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 Thanks Sinisha, But whats your opinion now that you have them? Sorry to be asking again. Cheers John Quote
DAZDA Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 ... and decided to have some bushes made. As I have a Ron Tyler type diff mount I thought that the rear diff cross member was redundant. Sinisha, Are you trying to reduce the distance between the CoG and Roll Axis (by raising the rear RC), or are you trying the bring it to a similar height compared to the front RC (assuming the front RC is higher than the rear RC)? 620Z Posted February 21, 2011 Posted February 21, 2011 I habe always been worried that the two adjustable bolts on either side are not strong enough for big HP cars. Hence I have shyed away from this set up. But those bolts look pretty big Sinisha. It's probably a non issue anyway. Nice set up. I haven't spoken to Gorden yet. How did you go at sandown on Sunday? redrbzed Posted February 22, 2011 Author Posted February 22, 2011 I will try and answer all the questions, John, it seems your line of questioning is leading to a comment from me on the quality of the parts (would that be right?) From what I can tell they are well made (a little heavy) and I would recommend them to others. If you want to have a look for yourself PM me and we can arrange a viewing. Dazda, The change is small so I don't expect a significant difference in car handling, but the aim is to get the RC closer to CoG to reduce the roll moment. I have done the same to the front and that certainly improved the handling. Craig, I'm not sure which bolts you are referring to, do you mean the bolts that hold the clamps in place? My best lap was a 1:22.7, a bit disapointing, but the tyres are getting on a bit. cheers, Sinisha Quote
Sirpent Posted February 22, 2011 Posted February 22, 2011 Thanks Sinisha, Sorry if it came across a bit twisted, I was looking at them for a long time but didnt know anyone who had ordered installed and used them. I will definately take you up on that offer. Cheers John Quote
