lilpug Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 Hi I am ordering a seal kit and there is a lot of confusion. Could someone please tell me if there is a difference for the seal kit between 260Z coupe and 260Z 2+2. The supplier seems to think I need a 280 Z 2+2 kit Please Help cheers, peter. Quote
zedrally Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 The 280Z was not available in OZ. Who is the supplier, I ask this as they seem to have no knowledge of HS-30 models in OZ? Incidently, what exactly are you after when you ask for a seal kit? Body seals, door seals, window seals, gaskets are also confused with seals. Mike Quote
lilpug Posted January 18, 2007 Author Posted January 18, 2007 Hi Mike, l mean windscreen door seals etc. The supplier is Intense restorations Peter Quote
zedrally Posted January 18, 2007 Posted January 18, 2007 There would be no difference in the screen seal. Door seals would be bigger in the 2+2. You may be better trying Scotts Old Auto Rubbers in Oakleigh. They stock the complete range of profiles that you need. Quote
luke_mcmahon85 Posted January 19, 2007 Posted January 19, 2007 the 260 2+2 and 280z 2+2 (not zx!) should be almost identical...i don't think any of the seals would be different...although to be sure, check the Black Dragon Automotive parts online Quote
lilpug Posted January 20, 2007 Author Posted January 20, 2007 Thanks Luke, On checking several sites, it seems that in the U.S they had a 260Z and 260Z 2+2 with the 2.8 motor and called 280Z and 280Z 2+2. Peter. Quote
maddos Posted February 14, 2007 Posted February 14, 2007 I've been told the 2+2 windscreen seal has a slightly longer top than the coupe seal. I found this out when I had to buy one from AllZ in Sydney. He reckons the coupe will fit but the 2+2 fit better. I bought door seals from Clarke Rubber for a pretty good price but yet to install. Coolie Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 clark rubber have door seals? you mean the window channel ones? Quote
maddos Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 Nope they have the bailey channel which I also bought off them which is good. But I'm talking about the door seals which they sell by the metre. Don't know who they source them from but they had a program on their computer which they let me look through to see what they could supply. Had a few different items and seem to be pretty well suited. Quote
Coolie Posted May 2, 2007 Posted May 2, 2007 and price wise? I really need the seals that go in front of the window on the door, the top of the door, the channel and behind... ok I need just about everything Quote
RBZ 260 Posted May 16, 2007 Posted May 16, 2007 I just got the rear window seal from rare spares $139. lilpug Posted May 21, 2007 Author Posted May 21, 2007 Just some information on ordering a seal kit from the U.S.A. Ordered mid January, finally received early May. Front and rear screen rubbers o.k Door seals to short, hatch seal to large. Top of door seals missing. Quarter outer window seals missing. I ordered from America because i was led to believe a complete seal kit would be supplied. Lesson learned. go to some more trouble and buy in Aus. Cheers, peter. Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted May 21, 2007 Posted May 21, 2007 sounds like you got a 2 seater seal kit by the sounds of the doors and hatch, bloody idiots. nato Quote
