Bigfella Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 I just looked on rare spares web site https://rsp-secure.com/rarespares/default.asp?car_type=34A&model=DATSUN%20240Z%20260Z and they don't appear to have ends on them either. It must be the all z parts that have them. I will have to find out. Quote
garvice Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Rear end of a2+2 is quite a bit different at rear since there is room to rear of the door. Quote
Bigfella Posted December 14, 2010 Author Posted December 14, 2010 Rear end of a2+2 is quite a bit different at rear since there is room to rear of the door. Ah interesting. So maybe no benefit in getting a 2 seater sill. Ah the dilemmas of restoration Quote
garvice Posted December 14, 2010 Posted December 14, 2010 Might still be score for it, just remember it may not be just a case of adding 11 inches to the middle Quote
nat0_240_chevZ Posted December 15, 2010 Posted December 15, 2010 the shape of the sill cover panel is correct right back to the wheel arch where it curves out to the lip of the wheel arch and the dogleg style line. i could do a single section 2400mm long but try transport that. you can run the sill cover into the dogleg, as the stock ones just essentially slip under the dogleg, and run 2 panels lapped over each other for a fair amount, hence the reason they rust out with a lil bit of moisture..... any panel beater or someone good with their hands can do the repair, remember the goal is not to metal finish the car. just get it done as best you cen with what youve got and use a thin skim of bog to get the ideal shape (not oo much however, std practice is max 3mm, but ill always aim for less than 1mm max anywhere, try to keep less than half a mm if i can.) not on my z but....... nat0 yes i am in the wheelings dealings of profile cutting, sheet metal presswork and fabrication by day, car nut @ night.... but with these machines at my fingertips, is a bonus, especially my new laser cutter......mmmmooohhahahaha. nat0 Quote
Bigfella Posted December 15, 2010 Author Posted December 15, 2010 Your a lucky man nat0. To bad your not in Melbourne. Quote

Bigfella Posted January 19, 2011 Author Posted January 19, 2011 I got My sill today. I ended up ordering it from netwarehouse AKA Restores hot Line AKA Rare Spares Adelaide. They were great to deal with, very helpful. I went to a sheet metal place the other day, but was told he couldn't get the radius on his bend to mach the ones on the sill. So I opted for ordering one already made. I have to say it looks like it matches very well. Quote
