dat2kman Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 if these have like neg offset -4 or something, i'd be interested pick up too Quote
PZG302 Posted December 5, 2010 Posted December 5, 2010 Peter, could you measure the back space for me please. If the back space is around 100mm I would also be keen on the wheels, provided I can test fit one wheel to check clearances on the race car. Quote
dat2kman Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 pzg302, since i am such a kind and generous chap, and even though I replied and pm'ed before you, I will graciously let you have first crack at these rims. I know you NEED them you already have the GOOD tyres to go on them too Let me know what the outcome is geez i'm a tosser, eh!! Quote
PZG302 Posted December 6, 2010 Posted December 6, 2010 It all depends on the fit, and if there is some spare cash from the deck...... If they are a +4 offset they more than likely won't fit my car with the spring perches dropped down the strut. And it was only ever going to be if you couldn't use the wheels being 2nd in line and all Quote
peter t Posted December 7, 2010 Author Posted December 7, 2010 Wheels were advertised as 15x8 +4 by Ben. Pic is of label on the box and I guess they are +4 as -4 would most likely foul on the strut. Quote
PZG302 Posted December 7, 2010 Posted December 7, 2010 Thanks Peter, Looks like Jason claims them, they won't fit on my car with my modified struts. My 18's have an offset of -2mm and the tyre clears only by a couple of mm. An offset of +4mm will have the wheel touching the spring perch, or the tyre rubbing at the very least. Looks like I will have to go to Superheavy GTR's at 15x8 -4 offset. Matt Quote
PZG302 Posted December 8, 2010 Posted December 8, 2010 Peter, Any tyre from a 215 through to a 245 will fit on an 8 inch rim. Any tyre that fits on the rim will have a load rating that is suitable for a relatively light car such as a Z, even a stationwagon . There are three rim widths that are shown for tyres, the optimum rim width and then the minimum and maximum, you shouldn't have any trouble finding a tyre that will fit the rims. If you have any worries about what tyre to get speak to some of the shops around you that sell motorsport tyres. I don't know of any shops off the top of my head in your area, but have had good service in the past from these guys.....http://www.keith4wheels.com.au/ Good luck with the search Quote
dat2kman Posted December 9, 2010 Posted December 9, 2010 ideal will be a 225/50 x 15, however as these are +4 offset, compared to the performance brand 'superlites" ( super bloody heavy's if you ask me, at -4 mm) the Rota's may?? rub on the front strut legs/spring perches, nothing longer wheel studs and affixed spacers wont fix. The rears in Rota will clear the lips od the guards fine, the performance ones require the guard to be lip rolled or trimmed Now that i see these Rota's are +4, I am not able to use them, however I have a mate with a 910 sedan with group C flares that may be interested, i will let him know about your possibility?? of selling them. I reckon the "transpot" guy hasn't a clue, Ben from Otomoto would not sell thes in Aus if they were not DOT approved, even DOT approved in other countries is /should be acceptable in Aus Try Craig Hornibrook in Geebung, he is a low overhead retailer of very good motor sport tyres. i recommend Kumho V710 or V700 for track work, they wont last long as daily drivers though! peter t Posted January 4, 2011 Author Posted January 4, 2011 These babys have got to go. Who wants them? Any takers. Quote
luvemfast Posted January 4, 2011 Posted January 4, 2011 Because of tyre selection, if they were 16" they'd be gone in seconds. You've tried here for a while now, maybe try Ebay? Quote
peter t Posted January 5, 2011 Author Posted January 5, 2011 Tyres can be got. Just have to have coil overs on the front or run spacers and longer nuts. Don't want to go there. That is why they are for sale. Quote
peter t Posted January 16, 2011 Author Posted January 16, 2011 These rims are still available. They are listed on e-bay as well for $700.00 + frt. May consider discount to members. Quote
