zedevan Posted November 24, 2006 Posted November 24, 2006 good work and congratulations! we should have a cruise when your car and david's are both registered while ur in japan are you planning on owning a car so u can do a private import? i heard its about the only way to currently get a rhd clio v6 into the country Quote
Huw Posted November 24, 2006 Author Posted November 24, 2006 I've been thinking about the import rule but not quite sure, I'd probably get something that i could sell for a fair bit when i get back to 'finance' the trip but will have to look it all over. Huw Quote
warrenz Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Hi Good work, we all want to see your car before you leave for Japan. Where abouts in Japan will you be studying ? Warren Quote
Huw Posted November 26, 2006 Author Posted November 26, 2006 Assuming i get into honours (will know roughly on Tuesday) I will be studying in Fukuoka (large city at the top of the southernmost island of kyushu).....they even have a zed club there! should keep the withdrawal symptoms on hold :-) Will be bringing it to the concourse, but I won't be entering (still too many loose ends). warrenz Posted November 26, 2006 Posted November 26, 2006 Hi We just had 2 weeks in Japan, visited friends in Marugame on the island of Shikoku (smaller island down south) and visited Hiroshima, Kyoto, and Tokyo as well as many places on the island of Shikoku. Japan is an amazing place, the people, the food and the culture are fantastic you should have a great time, it will be an amazing experience. Good luck Warren Quote
Lynton Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Gee Huw, Congratulations good effort indeed. If you can't bring a car home with you could you bring home a bag full of original RHD drivers SS door mirror. hehehehe! I can't seem to buy one for all the tea in China!!!!! Lynton Quote
thehelix112 Posted November 27, 2006 Posted November 27, 2006 Congrats dude. Sounds like fun. Would you be open to organising a couple of parts for me and shipping? They're kinda expensive, add up to a couple of K I think. Dave Quote
