kkkevin29 Posted October 24, 2010 Posted October 24, 2010 WOOH yay my garage is now starting to resemble a junk yard! So this is my 76 260z 2+2, with a sunroof (which i kind of like...) i finally got it towed home this week. still feeling abit unsure about how much i of this i want/need to restore but alot of the paint has been sanded back for me already so i can have abit of a closer look. The previous owner had the doors hanging off one hinge, which is just f***ing stupid, so I had to align the hinges to body which was just frustrating and took alot longer then it really should have. I then moved to searching for rust. The car mostly has rust around the lower rear and side of the car and there was alot more bog then I was expecting. but I guess I shouldve seen it coming. Rust in the rear bumper has totally got me stumped because it looks like cardboard has been used as a backing to lay filler onto??? the missing chunk in the picture below was just bog and cardboard But luckily I found myself a clean donor car close to home to hack up for panels. (Thank you Ben) another thing that took me by surprise was an aftermarket alarm system that keeps going off as soon as I put a battery into the car. The car is not starting at the moment, and I haven't really looked into it just yet, im just still in shock that i have a zed in my garge. If anybody knows about the history of this car i would love to hear about it. Kevin Quote

Brabham Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 Welcome, is the parts car a 2 seater? You may be better off fixing up that as they will always be worth more money and I see you have encountered some rather angry rust! Not to mention the sunroof Quote
Brabham Posted October 25, 2010 Posted October 25, 2010 They are both red so that must be a bonus!!! Quote
J-zed Posted October 26, 2010 Posted October 26, 2010 The 2 seater is mine waiting to get my laptop fixed before I start posting my progress. Quote
