BobsYourUncle Posted October 15, 2010 Posted October 15, 2010 I've got a query regarding the sleeves people are using to reduce the 2mm air bleed holes in emission dellortos. How long have people been making them? The full length of the hole in the carby? Cut at an angle at each end to fit flush? Or is that going overboard? Quote
twosixty Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 They don't have to be the whole length, nor on both ends, nor cut flush. They will be fine i you position them at the top of the carb. As long as there is a restriction somewhere in the bleed line, you will be reducing the flow of un-charged air entering the cylinder. There are pictures on this forum of some that a member has had fabricated - http://www.viczcar.com/forum/index.php/topic,2091.0.html Disclaimer: I have non-emission dells, but seen the modded air bleeds in others Quote
Scoota G Posted October 20, 2010 Posted October 20, 2010 Gee i missed this one... i used oxy welding wire to fab mine by first cutting to size slightly less length than the hole, them drilled them out 1mm. It was hard but with a drill press it would be easier. Then i just slid them into place and tapped the top of the hole with a punch to make sure they didn't come out if it backfired at startup. If you use the wire be careful because it's fragile. Quote
