Yu-hu!!!

finally the Z has arrived... and already got to drive.. man, awesome cars.

the steering does take some getting used to, but after a while is fine. ill go for a subie rack anyway... want it to be really nice.

the car needs a paint job and some minor work, apart from that, she's good. i plan to do some work on in and gave myself 2 years to finish her off!!!

will post pics once i give a good wash and a polish maybe. its a 1971 240Z with a twin-carb L28 in it. sound bloody awesome.

cheers. Vlad

Congrats Vlad,

Now the fun can begin. Make sure you enjoy your car at the same time as making your improvements. Don't take it off the road for too long as I have seen some peoples enthusiasm die if they can't take it for a spin every now and then. Power steering is on my list as well.

if you're keeping the L28 in it, drive it for a while, and do some basic maintenance on it, you'll get used to the steering. after driving my z, i get bored by the steering on PS cars, it just feels unresponsive and vague. if you're adding alot of weight, it's probably a good idea, but for stock, see how you go without it.

Good to see everything worked out.

You will enjoy the Z experience, and personally power steering in a Z is for girls

If you want heavy steering try adding positive castor to the wheel alignment settings, fitting 8 inch wide wheels with 235 wide rubber, making sure they are low profile slicks, and then to really make it heavy, lock the diff.....And I still prefer this steering over the vague feel of modern PS cars, nice and direct with awesome turn in, after you get used to the diff trying to push you straight ahead :D .

thanks guys!

i might try and get a ride in a Z with a subie rack first. see how it feels. you see, my previous car was an Evo 7 and that had an awesome steering. perfect weight at any turn, but only 2.4-2.7 turns lock to lock, so that was a pain in the arse. so im thinking to have my Z behave in a similar fashion, but only as far as weight of the steering is concerned.

by the way, the plan is to go RB30/25, but thats not until June/July i think.

cheers, Vlad
