I was driving behind a first generation (1977 - 1983) Daihatsu Charade this morning and I noticed that the brake lights look very similar to the 240z. Of course I am only going by the basic shape from 20 feet away so they may not fit??

With the price of parts for the 240z getting more expensive by the minute I was wondering if anyone had tried to fit Charade brake lights to a 240z? Or is there something else that makes a better conversion while retaining the original shape?

I don't currently need to replace mine, but they do have some cracks etc so its good to know what budget options exist.

Image below might help people. They do look quite similar, albeit upside down (though you could use right for left and vice versa). Would be worth trying to track some down to measure up. Might have to fake the chrome strip though as these don't have the indentation between lights.

Won't they be just as hard to find like 240Z lights? I don't see many of those running around. You wish Dunnydore lights looked identical; you find them at milkbars..

Speaking of Ferraris Greg, I think I saw a video of a 60's/70's one that had similar lights to the 240 but same problem, probably rarer and more expensive than the 240!
