Hey I'm pretty new the Z scene and I'm just wondering if there was ever a 260z 2+2 that came out with a T top because my old man just bought a 1977 260z 2+2 and it has a T top and was just wondering if it was a modification or a standard.

sorry would add a photo but i have No clue how too

Never a factory option.

The seller in the ebay ad had no idea what he's talking about. The 280ZX was the first Zcar to offer a T-top.

The earlier S30 cars never did.

There's a dead giveaway. Why would they have left the tops of the doors there from factory? Every other T top that i've seen has had the top of the door as part of the targa roof that you pull out.

Take a look:

Firstly

Welcome to the forum, hope you enjoy it here and learn about ZED's

Secondly

as everyone has stated the 240z or the 260z never came out TARGA top, so you have a unique car there, not to everyone"s liking but nevertheless unique

The car is coming today from the mechanics because they were a lil incompetent and dad decided to put me in charge of the car, I will be doing most mechanical and body work on the car and may pull couple of the bois from the industry to give me a hand.

I am a little worried about the T top tho since it is an after market job i am worried about the integrity of the body now, Once the car arrives i will end up ripping out the interior and checking if any support bars have been welded in to stiffen the body.

I have read alot of bad feed back on this car but i am happy that the car is different even tho it may take more work.
