datozed Posted July 10, 2010 Posted July 10, 2010 Hope to be converting to ITB injection soon . Anyone who is already running ITB could you please help by telling me where you have fitted your air temp sensor if possible a photo would be great thanks all Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 10, 2010 Moderators Posted July 10, 2010 I just have mine on a little "L" shaped bracket bolted to the side where the coil used to be.. Quote
datozed Posted July 10, 2010 Author Posted July 10, 2010 Thanks for the reply zedman so are you saying you've just got it mounted to the side of the inner guard ? I thought it should be mounted somewhere on the the inlet manifold so the temp being taken by the sensor was of the air that is going into the motor .eg inside the manifold . Quote
nizm0zed Posted July 11, 2010 Posted July 11, 2010 it'll work fine on the inner guard. the enginebay as a whole becomes the plenum that the engine draws the air from, so measuring that temperature is fine. If you happen to make an enclosed plenum over your throttle bodies, then move the sensor into that plenum, or the intake pipe feeding it. the actual temp reading that the sensor feeds the ecu isnt critical, just as long as its not something that'll vary wildly irrespective of the engines operating conditions. Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 11, 2010 Moderators Posted July 11, 2010 Since there are six individual air inlets, you have to place it in an area of air just before it goes into the trumpets. If we were running plenum chambers like a 280ZX manifold, then yes, you screw it into that. If you thread it into just one runner on the manifold, it (the ECU) will base the fuel map on the running of that one cylinder. In the air stream in front of all six, will be a better average. Quote
datozed Posted July 14, 2010 Author Posted July 14, 2010 zedman240 , just saw the picture of your injection set-up in the for sale section .Saw the air temp sensor mounted to the inner guard , Is it possible to run this system ( ITB) with closed loop ? Or do you just run with throttle position and revs ? thanks for the help . Quote
Moderators Zedman240® Posted July 14, 2010 Moderators Posted July 14, 2010 My system with the Wolf can be run in closed loop mode with the only thing needed to be added is the oxy sensor; wires and plug is there just no sensor! The way my system works is as you said; throttle position versus engine rpm. Load can be worked out so injector times can be programmed. Quote
